There’s a many stories about a lightinig being put against a f15 and the lighting beating it at the time in the late 80s . the storys that follow say the lightning was stripped to do this or was the story from the USA .
Either way they are all powerfull aircraft but the lightning was at the end of its long service life and was built in the late 50s but could still go head to head with more modern aircraft and come out on top. i do hope if the thunder city attemp goes ahead and puts the best of british 1950s techno back in the record books.

And what ever happened to free speech?

Honestly you guys you are living in a dream world if you think that this project will fly in a year as for more reasons than one it allmost certainly won’t, reasons are expertise, manpower, time, money and the campaign against aviation (CAA) are to but name a few. Before people say well they have got BAE and Marshalls on board how many people there have got time on Vulcans and I don’t mean line or ramp work not many so sorry chaps in maybee 3 years you might be thinking of putting the first engine in

HAVE FUN CHAPS I AWAIT WITH BAITED BREATH

Hits rolling mate so hold on to them words . She has a few hurdles to jump but im sure she will fly over them . Watch this space in 12months time . Im sure all the doubters and idiots who live in cloud cuckoo will be slimeing away for tickets for her first show.

Have to agree with a lot of comments made about the shape and cost .
Most will have seen these big hanger type industrail steel framed buildings going up over night around the country and of not great cost . Im sure cosford could have had a much bigger hanger made this way with full sprinkler system at half the cost of what is being built .

Yes mr.B. i understand about the hunter and very nice it is. but i was saying that i seen all the departs and they looked ok from where i stood was just saying that the hunter low was at more risk as they was a lot of rooks at the end of the strip ready for roosting for the night . So a cimbout to clear the threat of a birdstrike by the aircraft Jorgo thinks was excessive. im sure the speeding motorist on the A34 should have been more of a worry.

Caution aviation police . watch this one he looks like a boy racer with altitude

Well i stayed till the end and took pics of all the departing aircraft and to be honest i never seen anything to agressive in most of the climb outs . the hunter departing staying low was at most risk with a lot of birds around the end of the srtip. Not sure if a bird warning was a issue .
