some of the comments related to this on their facebook page

people demanding refunds (within hours of being asked to leave) because they were being looked after, calling the events organizers thieves,

they could have been seriously injured had the festival continued

i have friends working down there, who were meant to be doing pyrotechnics(wet weather ones) and they have been sent home as its that dangerous

    some people are never pleased

    Red Tails

well, what to make of it…..

after such a good build up with teaser trailers and what not, i was quite severely let down, very CGI heavy…especially the P51 and 109 turning on their axis…essentially flipping over while in a dog fight, going top of the green in some tight maneuver

the basis for the story is a good one, dont get me wrong, ive met a Tuskegee Airman (one of the original members of the Squadron) and his wife (first black female pilot i believe)

i just feel the film could have been better…it felt quite bland with not much excitement, i was really looking forward to it too 🙁

    6/10

I certainly haven’t forgotten the men or the sacrifice.

But in the rush of my day job I had completely missed the anniversary.

Ironic, as the day job at the moment is training British chaps to sell Japanese cars.

    Thanks Kev

    Moggy

i once met a gentleman whilst i was volunteering at NEAM,right next to Nissan’s Car manufacturing plant, it turned out he was a member of 607 Squadron Royal Auxillary Air Force, he was based at Usworth for a time, he then went on with the squadron to fight the Japanese and keep them from our soil etc, he quoted something to me that himself and his RauxAF colleagues firmly believed, ” we went over there and fought them, to keep them away from our country, and they still took over our b*****D airfield”

i know thats not directly related to the subject as such, but it stuck with me, as did the look on his face as he said it

i for one will never forget either

may they rest in peace, and for those who are still suffering to this day (are there many left?) well, i hope they find peace

plus a whole list of others il not bother listing

anyway, excellent shots as i said before 🙂
