    update continued

    portakabin/classroom
we recently took delivery of 2 new cabins, the 3rd one has been delayed due to high winds over the past week or two,one of which will be offices, iirc the other 2 will be classrooms, although that may change

the two on the left are the new ones, the one on the right is the working members crew room

our crew room being moved to a better location, rather than the car park

our thanks go to T.F & S. Ryan HIAB hire for doing the lifting work for us

    Sunday 6th
a bit of down time for us now as the weather has set in over the past 2 weekends, so while waiting for it to die off, we were marooned in the crew room, a quick snap of spock on weather watch out of the window

as darkness began to fall on Sunday, we decided to call it a day as there was nothing more we could do with the sky throwing water at us,

a quick snap of the lightning peaking out of the hangar before i shut her in for the night

well, i think its time for an update seen as the last one was in december 2010

    ok here go’s

the museum site is currently undergoing major maintenance work to construct new buildings for the military vehicle museum to move into as they are currently sharing a small section of hangar 3, however, due to bad weather as of late, the site has turned into quite a quagmire (giggidy), some of the aircraft work has been put on hold to try and assist the MVM to get sorted and into their new home, from creating a new display in the display hall, to moving around bits of their “shed”

a few pictures to go with some updates

    Bell 47
firstly, over the winter, our resident southerner, Richard, set about spraying the bell 47 in a make shift spray booth (which was rather impressive)

    http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu207/marlee2214/NEAM2011/47respray2.jpg
*note, this is going in US army colours for the Korean war event

    http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu207/marlee2214/NEAM2011/47respray3.jpg
he even did the engine with a can of spray paint

    http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu207/marlee2214/NEAM2011/47respray4.jpg
how she currently looks, minus her giblets

    Wessex
with a day of the light stuff from the sky, we set about trying to tidy the site a little, with permission from the gaffa, we painted chairman hugh’s wessex to also tidy it a little, everyone is quite pleased with the results so far, more extensive work will be carried out when we can get her undercover, but for now she doesnt look too bad, we even replaced the smashed port side bubble window which was broken when she was delivered to NEAM

    http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu207/marlee2214/NEAM2011/wessex2.jpg
*note, we haven’t touched the yellow yet

    Whirlwind
well, poor 258 has had a bit of a break lately, the completion date i had down which was February has had to be extended, with the bad weather at the back end of 2010, the aviation academy couldn’t get bods down to carry out repairs, damn snow! however they were up there replacing panels last Friday when i called in so hopefully its not too long now before shes on the way to recovery, thanks Brian, John and the team

we have managed to replace one of the windscreens as a temporary fit, to see how well the perspex copes which we got from homebase i believe, hens the foot prints on the nose, (well thats what happens when you let a Yorkshire man whos used to working on v bombers loose on a helicopter :p)

JIM, im being honest here, that isnt actually the reason i want to join up, although it is partly to do with it, i want to make something of my life, i feel im just wasting it sitting round here not having a job, id like to see the world and work while im at it

EGTC, once we move into the new house, im having a shed in the garden for my own Gym, hopefully i can get up to scratch and join soon
