just as a further update
John Wilkinson, a long serving member of NEAM,who was ex RAF and the sole restorer of our resident dragonfly, sadly passed away at the end of last month.
We at NEAM will miss him dearly, aswell as having fond memories of turning up to the site, to find him working away in the corner of the hangar with his portable heater and flask of tea or coffee, fighting against the northern cold with determination to get his helicopter finished.
usually the day would end with him arguing with rubber seals not wanting to go into place on the heli.
RIP John
you wont be forgotten, nor will your dedication to your aircraft

Well this past weekend, we at NEAM were involved in the heritage open day scheme, this went really well with several hundred visitors over 2 days, several who are returning as members to work on some of the exhibits
anyway, a small update
Whirlwind XN258
currently undergoing a repaint on the areas which are repaired and de corroded by one of our southern members(norwich to be precise) we now aim to have 258 finished for the start of 2011 now that things seem to have picked up, more visitors and donations for paint etc. if anyone has any spare windows they would be willing to donate or swap, could they please get in contact with the museum, or PM me so i can forward it to the committee, we are in need of cockpit windows mainly

Canberra WJ639
our TT.18 is currently undergoing some repairs on her tail where shes suffered some weather damage from the wind

Meteor WL181
after some comments were made from the last update regarding 181, we got back to work to apply the correct paint and are currently working to try and get a squadron colour scheme, once complete a full update will be posted regarding 181

Myself or Spock will get a proper update done soon, we’ve just been busy with work, school etc
hope your all enjoying the updates when they get posted, any helpful comments would be appreciated
Scotty
