There would be nothing wrong for EU to draft some sort of mutual member agreement to sure up domestically made products are given preference over foreign when it comes to Defense spending and only when its appropriate and domestic product is actually suited for it.

If US can be so defensive about its domestic military market , why cant EU?? As Americans would point out this is far more than just question of free trade, its about self reliance and development of critical new technollogies. Jobs and profits are only one of the many factors to be considered.
