I know Steve i cant ******* believe it my self that people would be this reckless. Ive also been thinking that with arsonists still at large, and the fact that number of fires were set in one day some distance apart.. could there be more to this that we not being told?

    From Sun Herald

SEVERAL fresh blazes have been deliberately lit as 100 police officers hunt the arsonists believed responsible for lighting some of the deadly Victoria fires.

New fires were detected and put out in the Beechworth area. It is believed police have a description of a car used by those allegedly responsible.

Victorian Premier John Brumby said it was virtually impossible to believe that people would be still lighting fires in the current situation. “There seems little doubt that these were deliberately lit. I think words escape us all when it comes to describing that deliberate arson,” he said.

Community shock and anger at arsonists have spread nationwide as the massive scale of death and destruction have become known.

There has been a huge effort to clean up harbor in syd over last 20 years, stormwater drains laws, sewers and treatment plants, tough regulations on oil and chemical pollution and so on…downside if you can call it that is that new clean harbor is haven for fish, who attract bigger fish, who attract sharks.. there is a huge population of Bull sharks there, and they will bite anything. It gets more dangerous at night when i think the poor fella was attacked.

Once again you missed the point Sferrin. USSR and USA did not figure it out on their own.. they took wealth of NAZI knowledge and hired NAZI murders such as now Hero and Moon landing architect Von Brown, whos killed thousands of Brits and Belgians by raining V2s on them.. yes yes he never pushed the button but he did everything else.. he also had no problem watching 10,000 people die slaving in salt mines of pina munda, constructing his invention. He should have been hanged.

“Technologies being tested during the trial include diver detection sonar, underwater warning systems, imaging sonar, Remotely Operated Vehicles and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles used for hull, pier and seabed searches.”

Looks like they are testing intergrated detection and warning system against any would be attacker, be it diver or surface craft such as jet ski or speedboat

    thanks for the article

What intrigues me is the 75 OR LESS part.. perhaps they will cut the order down even further. But even 75 AC means F35 will not be replacing both F111 and FA18… and in truth F35 could NEVER do the role of f111, range speed payload.. so the question is… what could?

Top heavy or not it is not a right way to look at it. When you have a profesional but reasonably small army, it is a common thing. You cant just not promote people when they clearly deserve to be promoted.. but you cant fire them because they are “overqualified” … its simply means that in ADF job of a Major is handled by Colonel and so forth.

    Scale of devastation

Most casualties were of people caught in their cars while fleeing.. i came close to same faith in 2006 NSW fires. Canopy of my Jeep actually caught flames but we managed to get on the road that was driving ahead of wind and flames.

This is how you get trapped and why so many Aussies in country drive only 4WDs

Country side Victoria is scene from hell… 108 dead so far, but it will rise no doubt once crews think its safe to enter and search homes and cars. I had a chat with friend in fire department down there,, he says there are cars with whole families burnt to the bone still sitting on some of the deserted country roads.

Everybody here is used to bushfires, they are part of annual cycle… and we accept the price for lifestyle we chose, such as having homes amongst the bushland and close to nature. But this is something that nobody expected or forseen. The climate conditions lined up with wind to create perfect disaster. Its now clear that atleast some of the fires are result of arson. 😡

Though i think your line of thinking flies in the face of 50 years worth off international work in international relations laws and general humanity… i think we better end this now before it gets derailed compleately and mods have to get whips out.

Yes in WW1 38 general commanded 300,000 troops…. right up the slopes of Galipolie and front on Turkish machine guns. There were other brilliant ideas like landing light horse on the beaches with no possibility of those horses getting up the slopes.

Somebody needs to give this idiot a lesson in 101 military command and structure.
