I wonder where Russia will stop? Will Ukraine annoy Mr Putin enough to send in the tanks now that he see’s he can get away with it?

If pro West part of Ukraine starts shelling pro Russian part… and treating them as second class citizens… maybe…

Ill remind you that goverment in Ukraine is split along national/religios lines about 45-55% … with 45% population more less considering them self Russian, and 55% not , or even closer to Polish. There is also Catholic/Ortodox split. So the rethoric coming out of Ukraine is hardly representative of 100% of population.

Is it fair of NATO to fast track Ukraine into membership, on a whim of Minority government when 45% of its own population is against it ??

Hardly same class of ac … nations/units on the waiting list for JSFs have particular needs for VTOL or STOL capabilites, or significant ATG needs…

I was joking a bit, but i do actually agree… i have been coming on these forums on and off since shortly after Allied Force when i moved from Serbia to Ukraine to studdy for a year, i then moved to Australia to finish studdies off and have stayed here… i like the place :p.

Having been unfortunate enough to have my service conicide with Allied Force, needless to say when i first started reading these forums i was pretty much as biased as you can imagine.. but sometimes perspective from different position helps you adjust your position.

Which is why i return to these forums every now and again, not only to catch up with state in world aviation, but global opinion poll too.. For example with the most reacent crysis, instead of digging up all the news sources my self, i come here because i know there people here from all over the world who will be happy to copy paste news from sources in their region in one place… makes it easier on lazy bum like me :D:D:D

True. That’s one good reason why it can be hard to ever “win” a debate like those we’ve been having here.

Yep, have you ever changed your mind about political issue because someone on the other side of the globe, convinced you on the Interwebs 😀

Good chance for Boeing to Get Aussies to abandon JSF and go with Supper Hornet instead. Lord knows Boeing could use some good news for a change.

There are very very few conflicts in which one side is 100% right and other 100% wrong.

Maybe because oh i dont know… USN does not and will not operate Raptors.

That said i would love to see some fair and independent results from war exerices where raptors faced some 4, 4.5 gen fighters… even f15/16s .. and dont link me USAF releases about total dominance of Raptors over F15s in every aspect of combat… i take those with a grain of salt.

Raptors trump card its the “stealth” part, but considering that Lockheed on numerous occasions came out and comented about how its a “reduced radar signature fighter” rather than full stealth AC.. yet people here insist on assuming that 4.5 gen fighters would NOT see Raptors coming.

Like i said i would run naked trough a prison shower if i could see unclassified results of actual signature raptors produce when facing radars on 4.5 Gen fighters :eek:;)

Jumping a gun little are we?? In current state Georgia can hardly afford that kind of finance.

In addition even if they had say few billion to spare.. a) who would sell them b) they would have to buy awful lot to make Russian take notice.

    So for a)

    1. Sweden – No way, Relations with Russia are way more important, All Putin has to do is cut off oil/gas

    2. Germany/UK – Read Sweden

    3. France – Off all EU have best relation with Russia,

    4. USA – Would be nice way to fix the tensions with Russia would it not? It would also give Russia grounds for a FU reply when Iran comes knocking for S300 and other advance kit.

    5. Israel- Under Pressure from Russia stopped export of small UAVs… only to supply them with Fighters?? Again, would lose all grounds for appeal if Syria/Jordan/Lebanon etc came to Russia for some advance SAM kits that could really give them headache.

    6. China – though Chinese are stubborn with these sort of things and usually dont give rats **** when rest of the world think (N.Korea support) … they do get 50% of their Energy (oil/gas some coal) from Russia, their economy is not growing as fast as it could only for the lack of energy and fierce competition with Americans EU and Japan over supplies of raw material/enegry. Also their military kit is 90% supplied Russian technology. Finally in UN security council you have China and Russia vs basically NATO (time for India IMO to get seat) so there is a sort of an alliance there.

That about covers it.. could some country say Turkey,Pakistan etc supply some of the refurbished kit they are repleacing, secretly funded from Washington.. yes but to what purpose?? Would 50-60 F4s,F16 make any difference?? Apart from being a good way to waste 50-60 ACs … no not realy.

As SoC stated getting their SAM network upgraded would be their best option, followed by getting their Infantry units trained up and supplied better, create few divisions of profesional standing units, equip them with modern MANPADS and AT systems, and its your best and most affordable way of giving Russians some food for thoughts.

Did not realise that there were tensions between US and Armenia… as for Turks, well they nearly exterminated Armenians near end of WWI .. in what was genocide to rival Holocaust, Turks are good at those sort of things.. did nice job on Kurds too.
