I am glad to see that they are going to be doing daily to JHB. What is their inflight service like?
Excellent if you are lucky enough to fly first class and my misses is the in-flight chef!!
Its also excellent for me when I fly in the cheap seats and she is the in-flight chef, I can have 2 window or the 4 isle seats to myself(if flight isnt full), I get her crew food, drinks almost on tap and on my second from last trip out, the experience I got when flying over the Turkish border into Iran will stay with me for life!!! Im not gonna say much more about it, apart from I wish I had my camera!
I would give my right arm……. hang on…… I would give my left arm to go to Monino to see those a/c.
I can only go on what I find out on the web, I too would be interested to see if its there, although I have done alot of research on this… (how sad am I? Have I nothing better to do?) I cant find a Tu154 at Monino on any web site.
Excellent pics Andrew, well done

Are you quite sure that Gulf Air is going to fly to Amsterdam? I’ve looked at the website of the Dutch slot allocator and they do not list Gulf Air as having received slots.
Yep, my misses has already heard rumours and been asked if she would want to fly there by someone from within her ops.
Baghdad will happen sooner rather than later too
i think they used to in the ’80s but im not too sure

The prototype (CCCP-85000) was built at the “Opyt” factory in ’68. It was transported disassembled to Zhukovskij (spelling?)where after reassembly and ground trials it took off for the first flight (pilot Yuri Sukhov) on 3rd Oct ’68. As a matter of historical interest, one of the first five Tu-154 (CCCP-85007) continued its service with Vnukovo until the end of ’93 when it was retired.
Interflug…. I have had a look at Monino Museum website and they havnt a TU154 on display…. there is one at Vdnkh Museum(???)
