The ‘old’ standard seating arrangment for troop movements in the VC10 c1 were for 150 troops / passengers which were all in a rearward facing config. It has been proved that it provides an extra safty feature, which arilines refuse to adapt, even today.
For freight all of the seats can be quickly taken out. I flew back from Singapore back in the 70’s, my old man was RAF but I was only 2, so I cant remember if I enjoyed it.

    Selsport69,

If you fly from LHR to JHB, you will stop at Dubai and be flying in an A330-200 or B777.

With Gulf-Air expanding the way it is with its new Gulf-Traveller and also soon to fly further afield ie Sydney and possibly the USA, Oman Air currently trying to come to LHR, SaudAir mainly flying to JFK and looking to purchase a few 777’s. I think Emirates is losing its strong hold on the gulf regions, although it is still by far the largest carrier in the gulf.

The amount of a/c based within the Gulf region is certainly going to double in the next few years.
With Emirates, Gulf-Air, Oman Air and Saudair all expanding the amount of a/c types is going to make some interesting photos.

Ive just received a mouse-mat with the new Gulf-Traveller c/s on it, I like this c/s as its not as bland as the old normal one.
I still prefere the new gold/white c/s on its a/c

I went for a walk towards the flight line when Concorde came over.
I saw a Agusta 109 but it was a different one, this colour was red-ish and I think it had american numbers?

Im going to have to disagree with all of you!! My misses is an in-flight chef ( 1 of only 40 in the world ) working for Gulf-Air, she only works in first class ( and flight deck ) and she is 43!! In my eyes she beats any young blonde!! Incidently im 29

I will put my pics on here when i finish the film, I took a few of my misses a/c. Next time I go there I will take a ‘proper’ camera and when she flys in I will let her know and get her to wave out the window!

    Andrew I too was there!!,
I was sat in Hatton Station car park from 4pm, with camera ready for my misses to fly in at 5.25. I was surprised when the Libyian A300 flew in and also the a/c from Kuwait.
The Gulf-Air A340 from Dubai was supposed to land after my misses A330 from Bahrain. I was supposed to leave after she landed to meet at the hotel, but I stayed till Concorde came in so I could get some pics, luckly 102 was early!
Just so you know, I was the mad man in the red MX-5 trying to find the exit from the car park so I could get to the hotel before her!
