Now my mathematics tells me that (920/140)=6.571. What do you get? :diablo:
Ok , thanks I get it now.
Please dont ask me for the # for the -31F engines or the engines for the IAPO built MKI.
Iam not gonna ask for the # of 31F engines :diablo: , but is the ratio greater than or lesser than that of the MKI ? ( Just wanna know what the IAF thinks of the 31FP VS the 31F -reliability wise)
I’ll now leave you alone to try and convince those internet posters. Everyone knows if you don’t convince them the earth will cease to exist tomorrow 😀
The magic # you will be looking for is 920. You find 920 AL-31FP engines and you ve found your sparing factor.
Just a zimble question : Are the IAF more pleased with the AL-31 FP than the Plain Jane AL-31 ? Because my math say’s 920engines/190MKI’s is lesser than the 6.57 for the ’30 k/mk .(Or does the number reflect the higher lifetime ot the FP ?)
I think the APAR,phalcon, ereyie use a different type (bulky) of aesa module than the fighter radars because their operating frequency and cost reasons ?
Sorry , no idea.
Anyways the Il-76MF with almost 8 times the payload (~ 52,000 kg) of a SAAB 2000 (~ 5900 kg) should be able to squeeze a considerable amount of goodies inside. Range with 40 tons for the ’76 MF is 5200 kms.
Range for the SAAB 2000 at max load is 1300 km.
I’m pretty sure Phalcon uses PESA radar. I have no idea what you are talking about with AESA.
The PHALCON uses an AESA. It’s a C5 platform.

Boss, you have to use a proxy address. Find a nice little proxy address at :
http://www.proxy-list.net/
Enter it into your browser and it should work.
If all you think is that you need infrastructure is all it takes, then I guess you have a whiner’s loser argument. If you got to win, you do what it takes.
Fine , do what it takes to win, but how does Olympic medals translate into better Pilots ?
The Olympic theory was brought in by an idiot whom , instead of questioning the person who made the ” PLAAF has low flight hours” statement to prove it using facts and figures, decided to bring in an insane twist to the argument.
I guess you have a whiner’s loser argument
Nope, I know what it takes to make Olympic winners, and you need to allocate precious (for some) resources for the same. If your (favourite) nation thinks the international stature it gets ,is worth it then fine, it’s their choice. But please do not link it with pilot training
In social and economic metrics, China is ahead of India not in increments, but in multiples.
Multiples are something that are covered in a couple of years(if you have noticed) with India’s fast consumption growth figures .
Like for example, when do you expect for India, who now has over 100 billion in foreign reserves, to match China’s 800 billion plus in reserves, growing at a rate of 100 billion annually?
And why would we need such high unproductive reserves sitting in our banks doing nothing ? We don’t have to keep our currency pegged artificially low for one. What’s Germany’s reserves ? Japan’s ?
I see many immigrants generally doing well in the US. By the way, do you happen to be an Indian immigrant tycoon? if not, why are you hiding in their coattails? What is there to be so proud about your “richest” when you have hundreds of millions of the same countrymen wallowing in destitute poverty back home.
Well , it was your friend who decided to bring in overseas Chinese to support his ‘views’. Why don’t you ask him to explain what there is to be proud about your ‘richest’ when there are millions of Chinese “wallowing in destitute poverty back home.”
And no, Iam not a rich Indian immigrant tycoon. Just an ordinary Indian in India
Ah well, the third cousin of my uncle’s nephew’s brother in law is in the Air Force so I have inside connections.
😀
Nice, But how many Chinese Flanker Pilots have you spoken to ?
There’s a pic around somewhere of GeorgeJ sticking his nose into unnecessary places 😀

Hi,
In the attcahed pic is that a Litening pod on an India MKI ??? Can you attach a larger pic and leave out the cropping ?
fantumfan2003
The first pic posted by ha27 has an ELTA 8222 jammer on an F-15. The second is the same on an MKI.
The second pic is a digital photo of my old computer screen playing the video of SINDEX04 . 😀 (screenshots dont seem to work for .wmv files) . You may still find the video on the Singapore Air Force Website.

if you want to keep this discussion remotely on topic, i advise you to quite bringing in irrelevent and plainly wrong BS like ‘the regeme in china sweeping the poor under the rug’, and stick to the topic.
Bringing in the ‘Olympics’ though is completely sane , is it ? How about ‘Oil Consumption = Better Pilot Training ‘ . How about getting your comrade to heed your own advice ?
Why would a country create these elaborate and successful systems to win Olympic gold but wouldn’t do the same for its Air Force?
Jeez ! You still don’t get it do you ? Are you delibretly acting stupid ? The point you were trying to make is a country’s pilot training is dependent on it winning Olympic medals ? Why cant you understand that for some countries , winning Olympic medals to increase their international ‘stature’ is not a
priority ? Having an able military is. Especially when you’re surrounded by Terrorism suporting nuclear armed regimes and dictators. Some of which actively engage in nuclear and missile proliferation .
Every nation that is viewed as a major power is represented in the Olympics chart.
Wrong. Every country which has a superb sports infrastructure is represented on the charts, including the only third worlder in the top ten list. The second Third worlder , Cuba , comes in at number 11.
The actual Indian track record in any form of competition with China, whether on the battlefield or economics, is a series of one-sided routs
Yes China is ahead of India in Economics and has completly routed
India  Because you have a lead of a couple of years ? So in the 5000 year history of India and China , the Chinese currently have a lead of a few years. What was the Chinese consumption figures a couple of years back ?
Vietnam had taught the US itself. Ask the French too. Losing to the Vietnamese is akin to losing to perhaps the best warriors post WWII
And where does Vietnam figure on your ‘Olympic List’ ? Are they in the top ten ? Did that stop them from beating anyone ? See how retarded your idea of linking Olympic medals to military strength sounds ?
You could also point out that the Chinese in the US does just as well and most of us immigrated with far less money because our ancestors had to build railroads and not white collar HB1 cards.
Difference is the Indians are the richest immigrants in the US . White Collar H1B visa excuse or not.
(Those jobs are going to India anyways 😀 )
Most Indians don’t care about Olympics. Let them include Cricket and then we can talk…. :dev2: :diablo:
Actually , it’s more likely because the government did’nt allocate enough resources to sports compared to other countries. Can you imagine what a ruckus would be aroused in Parliament if some government decided building sports institutions were more important than feeding the poor ? Nothing to be ashamed about, but faced with a choice, our elected leaders in the past decided that feeding the poor had a higher priority than winning medals at the Olympics and improving our ‘world stature’.
Third World nations which had leaders that did’nt have to answer to the people could afford luxuries like sports farms, they brought glory and honour to the state . Fortunately (or Unfortunately for some), India had an elected leadership. But with the worlds second fastest growing major economy , we might slowly start to shine in the sports arena as well, I see kids taking up sports and resources being allocated to it nowadays.
The link between Olympic medals and Pilot training is one of the most retarded I’ve heard in a while though.
Pilot training is decided by the amount of flying hours + Real world Experience + Training with other forces so that an exchange of ideas occur.
can u give any link or whatsoever to the BDL’s licence production of the Iglas??
But it’s soo hard ……and it’s so much more easy to just lash out .
It’s like controlling an orgasm 😀

Scramble says that the Mig-29’s are based on 2 airbases , one near Damascus , the other near Turkey (Hamah and Saiqal). So, people with ‘google earth’ might wanna check them out.And if there are buses on the roads near them.
If you zoom in reeaal close, the aircraft even looks like an F-22 😉
From Jai’s Link :
” He also noted that RD-33MK engines of the next modification will be installed on the ship-borne MiG-29K/KUB fighters, delivery of which is planned for 2007 – 2009 to India, with an increase in thrust do 9 tonnes instead of the 8.3 tonnes of the basic engine and with increased service life and reliability.”
//Daydreaming
A V-22 Osprey would IMVHO be a nice AEW candidate for the Vikramaditya(once its modified for AEW use and offered to India and the babus approve the deal, all of which would only take a couple of million years) . You could attach arrays to it’s side or have a rotating mechanism(for the radar ;)) similar to the KA-31.
