KOCHI: The Indian Navy will increase its fleet strength by acquiring several ships, submarines and aircraft besides developing infrastructure to ensure that by the end of the decade it would be a force to reckon with, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Arun Prakash, said on Wednesday.
Addressing the Naval personnel after inspecting a 50-man ‘Nishan Guard’ (Guard of Honour with the President’s colours) and the 36 platoons on parade, he said what was significant was that most of these acquisitions would have about 90 percent indigenous component.
He also spoke on the ‘Networking of the Navy’ which will facilitate all naval units to share information using Computer and Satellite once the project is completed.

I’d actually like seeing some Flankers on a daily basis, but of course that would most likely mean something bad had happened… 😀
We should start an exchange program, Flankers for T-38’s and C-5’s. No F-16’s though, thankyouverymuch 😀 😉
Indian Air Force “Special” paint job.
That’s probably due to the poor picture quality, it actually looked better in real life.
If you want an example of an awful paintjob, it’s all those ‘low viz’ Flankers seen nowadays. Yuck !
They were cool at first, now they’re plain boring. And Im tired of seeing Flankers all the time, wish they would station some Mig-21’s where I live. 😀
A friendly but ridiculous Hind
Please try and get a full side shot of the picture, it’s actually quite scary. Put yourself in the position of some Mujahadeen and imagine being shot at by an angry looking bird.
Please enlighten me.
Ok, will do moderately……. 😀
Defence Minister George Fernandes stated in a written reply that an acute shortage of critical spare parts had affected the operational efficacy of the Sea King fleet, with 60% of the helicopters grounded.Flights of the Sea King were cut down to a bare minimum and the SAR role taken over by the smaller, single-engined HAL Chetak helicopters.
No bulbs were harmed in the making of this post.
Hunting Hawk,
As expected, eh? 😎
Oh Yeahhh ! And always the usual suspects ofcourse . 😀
Maybe threatening to take them forward to the ‘FlintStones’ Age might work, but then again, it didn’t work for unkle.

Harry, What is it ? Some kind of an operating manual ?
Suspense killing us 😀
PV-3 has already had a few ground runs and is due to fly imminently (within 15 days). They say that they are on course for induction in 2008- the last major hurdle for LSP is weaponisation.

Wow ! Cool pic !
This low…….

From above article :
KANWA: I asked three different pilots which aircraft they prefer to fly, MiG29 or F18. All of them preferred MiG29. What do you think is the reason? 😀
No love for the whorenet. 😀
