If they had the guts to use Profiling then children would never be involved – nor would the majority of innocent pasengers.

I don’t know which planet you live on, but here on earth we have teenage suicide bombers, Caucasian Jihad Jane, Latino Jose Padilla, Black Richard Reid and many more like them.

    Now try your profiling!

First, thank you Vishnu Som for that first hand explanation!
Second, I posted that link because of certain relevance but
it is a single viewpoint perspective. It just has the advantage
of being about the latest Red Flag to feature the IAF.

As Vishnu Som explained, Red Flag is about learning to cooperate
on aerial war scenarii. In the same way, the PAF did not
“get to face the F-22 in Al-Dhafra”. The F-22 and Typhoon and
Rafale were there to “get to know each other. The bragging rights notwithstanding, the training of airforces that will fight together
if at all was the main reason for their simultaneous presence.
You can add the fact that the place is “quiet” ( Think of the time
it took for infos to get back to us, LOL. ) and a little political
inference would bring up the idea of Show of Presence to Iran.

So the PAF could be said to have been “also there”, no disrespect
    intended to our Pakistani friends.

Under the RoE, the IAF did just fine in Red Flag IMHO.

    Good day all.

Looks more than ”also there” to me. I doubt all these air forces were there to learn aerobatic displays.

Pakistan has it really easy don’t they free helicopters and free upgrades.

Not to be political but you can not put a value on the soldiers they have lost in helping USA.

Ask any Pakistani, whether they want to help America and get shiny helicopters or let US go it alone and end the daily suicide bombings, I bet they would choose the latter.

Its one of few countries where USA gets its money’s worth. Compare that to $3.5 given to Israel every year, just to have US vice president humiliated on his recent trip. Now that is riding the gravy train.

And yet they let Pakistan Air force play around with F22 in the recent exercises in Dubai.

No offense but Middle Eastern Air Forces have helped PAF significantly against the IAF. Just take a look at ACIG.org articles on 65 and 71 wars. 😉

1971- Isn’t that 40 years ago now. Any help after that? I’m sure RAF too helped PAF in 1947.

The passenger figure on BBC might be referring to the second incident involving a PIA 777.

    On the tragicomic side 😮

These were some of the of F-6’s donated by Pakistan air force to the Bangladesh airforce, tragically they were damaged during the flood.

Is Pakistan going to have a probe fitted to the F-16s to allow refueling from the MIDAS?

Pakistan is looking at boom equipped A-310 MRTT and surplus KC-135 from US airforce.

They are getting training for aerial refuelling from USAF.

Sounds like a failure of the ground staff at the airport, or can’t they afford them? Seeing as how they have the highest inflation in the world from memory.

Its not limited to the failed economies, even in US airplanes have been colliding with Peccary, Coyotes and even Antelopes. Maybe we should put that down to credit crunch 😀

Accroding to the following website PAF shot down 2 Mig-23.

”On 12 September 1988, Flight Lieutenant Khalid Mahmood, leading a formation of two F-16s, intercepted a formation of six Mig-23s intruding from Afghanistan. In a quick action he shot down two Mig-23 aircraft. Later, on 3 November the same year, he shot down an SU-22 aircraft near Thal.

He is now a Group Captain and is serving in the Project JF-17 Thunder.”

    Moral of the story

Stop subsidising US Arms industry , you know where the money ends up

To put it simply Pakistani military would say

80,000 Pakistani troops on the Afghan border = $$ and Weapons

no one is doing any one any favours they both need each other.

How did the Americans know that the missile modified was supplied in the Regan era and is not from the lot provided in 96-97?

Maybe Pakistanis played with them during the decade long sanctions period, I wouldn’t blame them for it myself.

No wonder Pakistanis call that period blessing in disguise.

I don’t see any advantage in a land attack harpoon for Pakistan navy, they will have to come dangerously close to Indian soil to launch them, better put their efforts towards developing the naval Babur.

Says me. Pakistan lost control and now it is a bankrupt state wracked by continuous militant violence.

That might be true but its not something we havent seen before. Anyways what was your point, in relation to this missile sale?

Pakistan has sponsored numerable terrorit groups and provides safe havens to others. Pakistan is a terrorit state whose terrorist activities are bringing it to the brink of state failure.

I am not taking any sides, merely saying that we should not look each at event in isolation. Pakistan has accused India of terrorist activities in Pakistan too; there was a RAW agent on death row in Pakistan some time ago for carrying out bombings.

    http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/uncategorized/pakistan-to-reconsider-death-penalty-for-alleged-india-spy_10028834.html

India has also been sponsoring Balochi separatists

Again my point is that Mumbai attacks didn’t come out of the blue. Both countries have been trying to get one up on each other. They could join forces and work for the development of the entire region.

I am not sure what moral high ground western nations have any more in these terrorist attrocities, they were arming Saddam, dealing with these same jihadis to hurt Soviets and calling Mandela a terrorist back in time.

    Fair point… but…

    http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/12/09/india.attackers/index.html

Cool heads will be needed over next few weeks or things could get out of hand.

Not relevant to this thread but,
Both countries have been blaming each other for everything since independence. I hope they break this cycle and work for regional peace. As far as India’s allegations go, majority of Pakistani’s think they are fabricated. Terrorism is a common problem now and both should solve it together.

Just today a second Indian was arrested for these attacks, its not all Pakistan based groups. They had a lot of local help too. Hopefully we will see all the truth in due time, as investigations progress.
