I am with you Teer…a correct analysis…..there remains no Qs of a IAF pilot casualty go unreported especially by the NOK…the law of the land nd accountability of the armed forces to the nation means nothing such serious can be hidden from public glare..our only damaged pilot was happily back with us…..but the ***** have undoubtedly hidden the loss of their pilot/aircraft from public glare…anyway someday this will be ravealed,im sure our Intelligence agencies are at it
I think the argument that, I am more honest than the other guy so believe me without asking for evidence doesn’t fly here.
Even if the pope told me that his 1970s VW Beetle beat a new Audit in a race, I would still ask for proof before believing him.
Both sides will keep on believing the lies spun by their own governments / militaries without credible proof.
Buran asked “Can someone confirm if amongst the Mig 21 wreckage this is the front section of R-73?”
It is.
So that means at least one R-73 was still on the pylon when the MIG came down. I haven’t looked through the wreckage pictures closely to make out if the second R-73 is there as well.
I think the mistake made by India was to make their claim too elaborate. Which made it easier to be picked apart.
The journalist who came up with the story about PAF pilot being Air Marshal’s son and being lynched by an angry mob to death, has now retracted his story. Kudos to him for accepting he made an error.

As they say, keep it simple!
The only thing Indians are now putting their claim and credibility on is the discrepancy between the first announcement of number of pilots and the formal statement by Pakistanis.
Mystery of Air Marshal Waseem-ud-din’s son has been resolved. Both sons are in UK and never joined PAF.

While you are at it. Is this similar to a part/booster section of the Raptor / H4 glide bomb used by PAF?
This was found in Kashmir, date uncertain.
Can someone confirm if amongst the Mig 21 wreckage this is the front section of R-73?
How many are carried on IAF Mig21 as a typical CAP load?
I will believe a retired Air Vice Marshal of the Indian Air Force over any users here or those ‘arm chair analysts’ and a western media obsessed with the balancing act and preventing war. The new India does not want to prevent war at any costs.
As long as he is in IAF service, Abhinandan will only be able to share such information with the approval of IAF.
I do not think IAF would release AWACS data or any sensitive material to satisfy the international public or aviation enthusiasts.
The cardinal rule of any battle including fist fights at the local bar is. Even if its not witnessed by any or even if the witnesses forget, the one who struck the blow and the one who received it will not forget about it.
IAF strikes and engagement had the desired benefit.
1. It is unlikely that Pakistan will allow terror outfits to strike India again, and if they do then India will strike Pakistan (that is established and the P.M downwards have been pretty clear, no matter how high the escalation matrix becomes any terror strike in India by Pakistani based militants will result in a strike on their bases in Pakistan).
2. Showed the skill of the IAF (at least in the eyes of Indian public) by downing a newer fighter with a legacy aircraft.
3. The whole episode had been more disruptive for Pakistani establishment and civilian life with the closure of their air space. The closure of Indian air Space was minimal and for most Indians its business as usual.
4. It was able to prove beyond doubt that PakistanI F16s were involved blowing PAF’s claim out of the water and possibly landing them in trouble with the U.S.
If 4 wars couldn’t solve the problem, I bet the 5th one wouldn’t be any different. Everyone thinks wars are easy. Not too far away is US Army in its 18th year of fighting in Afghanistan, and they have the luxury to run back 10,000 miles across the ocean which India doesn’t. They issues and differences are too ingrained to be resolved either through dialogue or war.
And lastly on airspace closure, I hope it is resolved soon but it will cause much more pain on Indian aircraft movement. Only 8 Pakistani / Pakistan bound flights fly over India in a week. Compared with around 223 per day to India. Every diversion adds from 1 – 4 hours to each flight.
Also like I mentioned before IAF story does not have any holes, there are no retractions while the Pakistani story was proven to be false on multiple counts with irrefutable evidence. a, The F 16 was used, b, Only one Indian jet was shot down instead of the claimed 2 and c, They only had one Indian pilot, they claimed to have two, one was a PAF pilot from the downed falcon and that is why they retracted.
Yes we will wait for a more sober analysis, but as for now the Indian version of events have fewer plot holes.
That is the problem, it will forever remain as a story and nothing more unless more information comes to light. Just like F-35 being shot down over Syria.
Whatever the truth ,it will come out eventually as PAF only had 6 F16Ds.Additionally, F16D has 2 pilots, no mention of the other pilot.
Maybe if India had kept the story a bit simpler, more people would have believed it. They went full Bollywood on it (both sons of air marshals, he ejected and was killed by savage villagers, funeral in secrecy, lawyers in London etc)
Interview with Indian Airforce Air Vice Marshal Mr. K K Nohwar , Dog Fight India’s MIG 21 vs F-16D complete details
Is he active duty or retired?
Also the entire speech was on Pressler amendments and history. Nothing which would help this debate go any further.
Don’t believe that this will ever be corroborated by official sources. The Pakistani lawyer that revealed this mentioned that the pilot’s family gave the info. But the very fact that they haven’t tried to disprove this claim tells a lot, given how eager they were to try to disprove any other claims.
I dont think it can ever work like that. You cant throw uncorroborated names, professions and places and expect others to disprove it. It’s not even spurious evidence. Who is this random lawyer in London? And how does IAF know who was flying which fighter jet?
How does PAF verify if this dude never existed? Parade all pilots and their families on TV?
IAF made a claim, which many are taking with a bucket of salt, so its upon them to share some proof. HUD video from one of the fighters there etc.
Otherwise next it will be a janitor in Japan and Butcher in Belgium….
Better to be found by anyone, than be lying somewhere injured or in the ocean. IAF pilot would have loved to be found before he got the welcome party from the villagers.
ACES seats allow automatic activation on ejection or parachute deployment.
A question for the more learned amongst us. If F16 uses AN/URT-44 beacon in the ejection seats. Can any ejection be hidden, as the beacon would inform all air traffic nearby of a person in distress?
If the F16 did indeed crash on the spot as claimed, surely IAF jets would have picked up the beacon signal. However no such claim has been made.

There were rumors citing a beekeeper in the democratic republic of Congo that a Sukhoi 30 was also shot down, but lets leave that for another day.
If I found actual evidence of the f-16 in pieces I hope you guys wont kill me, I feel like I am in F-16.net. I get your reasons for being so defensive but just chill.”
Sputnik citing London-based lawyer! enough said. “
There are indian sources that have said this to. I will find more information on the lawyer and pilots and see if there are any **** sources on this so hang tight.
Yes please. Everyone here would welcome any credible source / proof on this subject. Its not about being defensive, its to do with having to answer ridiculous claims / sources again and again.
“that’s a pretty low bar.”
Easy with the damage control. I was just asking if the lawyer, father, and son were legitimate people

For some more objective analysis read this;
https://www.bellingcat.com/news/rest…-mig-21-wreck/
Conclusion:
In summary, there’s no compelling evidence offered as of yet that an F-16 would have been shot down, and all signs point to MiG-21 wreckage having been on display thus far.
Why is that when a Russian jet is shot down it crashes where every man and his dog has a camera and access to Twitter, but when an American jet is downed it’s always just over that hill, or I heard a sound or my dad’s friends cousin told me!
We are better than that, atleast on this forum.
