RE: Nice pic today at SCQ
Hey Dazza…I was in Costa Del Silencio (coast of the silence) in TFE a few years back. The aircraft do come in over there. It was a great holiday—apart from the #####-roaches!!!

RE: Not quite Kai Tak…..
Yes I see what you mean. I was considoring the fact that the aircraft shouldn’t have been flaring for a touch down at that point, but its height would suggest otherwise.

RE: What to expect
Hey…i’ve got a family member who flew ADL-SYD with QF (737), then SYD-Yokyo and Tokyo-CDG with JAL (747).! (they then conected to Manchester on a truely fantastic A319 aircraft of Air France)
someone else (just yesterday) flew ADL-MEL with QF then MEL-Hong Kong, Hong Kong-LHR with CX.
Both impressed with flights lasting approx 36-48 hours (with a stop in the far-east).

RE: Not quite Kai Tak…..
The AOM DC10 looks to be trying to ‘pull up’. The flare is too great (greater than the others) and it just doesnt look natural…if you see what I mean.

RE: The Boeing 757
right….you’ve got your opinion…thats fair enough, but you are going about expressing all the wrong way. Just chill a bit and watch what your saying.

RE: Airline Liveries
Yes, I think it is BMI ‘Britsh Midland International’, i seem to remember reading it somwhere. Further forwarded by the instatement of flights to the USA.
I love the new BMI colours and the fact that they’re known as ‘BMI’, i think its really quite …..nice.!!!
AMM….re-considor!!!!
I’ve seen a BMI 737 in the new c/s @ EGNM, and there is/are 1 (possibly 2) EMB145s in the Star alliance livery based at EGNM…(confirm this Preston).

RE: Not quite Kai Tak…..
A do believe there is no ILS at Saint Maartain. I do love that place though…great stuff. I’ve said before…i will go there one day soon!
P.s. that KLM 747 classic looks a bit shabby. (probably an old photo)

RE: No more Stelios at EasyJet
This is a shame. As you say…he has done wonders for EZY. Lets hope his departure will not signal a change for the worse in EZY.

Great pic Kab.

RE: UH-oh…
Terrible news yes. It seems to be an accident. Reports suggest the piper was on fire and out of control upon impact.

RE: Favourite Holiday Destination
Cheers people (those who are not fans of gent, Belgium.) I’m going there next Easter (music tour thing…)
well…my fav. destination would have to be Greece. I have been to Kos twice and loved it. sun, food, inhabitants…great time. I found spain (Tenerife, Menorca) slightly too britainised…or prepared for the tourists. They were very nice though, dont get me wrong.
However, I am sure that my fav. would switch to places such as Hong Kong, New Zealand, Dom. Republic and especially Australia…once the funds can stretch!

RE: Flight Lessons
I had my first lesson quite some time ago…about 18months I think. Great feeling…I know exactly what you mean, especially the line “you have control”! …’yeh right!!’. simply sit back and enjoy it. stay calm and avoid becoming stressed (oh and afraid!) you’ll be doing your first circuit in no time!

RE: Airbus A340-600
The great use of the TORA may be down to the air pressure/humidity @ J’burg. Less air particles in the air will result in difficulty in flying. (no ‘grab’ for the engine.)
I dont have a clue what its like there. Anybody know?
