Just did the school run as we have 2 inches of slush on the road and I’m on hols. Left 15 mins early – I thought that was the trick.

Noooooooooooooooooo – what you do, and I share this freely with forum members, is put your fog lights on, and then drive as normal…. it must melt the snow as you go you see, then the rear fogs make sure ot doesn’t freeze up behind you.

So, Fogs on, Foot down – thats the ticket……

I got more misanthropic by the second on days like this…….

:mad::mad: Foglights grrrrr why do idits leave them on when there is no fog or heavy snow.
It is damm annoying , when there is a car in front with them on , all you can see is damm bright red lights.

That certainly is extracting the urine and driving unsafe, yes! Idiots who drive like that in such conditions deserve to wrap themselves around a lamp post, preferably without killing anyone else in the process.

    Paul

I agree with you there, but the sad fact is that 90% of the time these idiots will wrap themselves round somebody else’s car , and they come out of it with out a scratch, but the poor 3rd party badly injured.
Then when they get to court ,all they get is a poxy ban and **** poor fine really makes me so mad.

It’s easy to “unveil” a project when you know you’ll never have to manage or fund it, or provide the infrastructure to support it.

MMMM I never thought of that , roads and rail that are there now , would be overrun very quickly.
I suspect the cost of a new multi line rail system and what would be another M25 would cost has much as a new airport would.

    Yes and yes.
    40 Billion?
If every other civil project is anything to go by, then expect to double the original estimate.
    40 years too late though.

Maybe 40 years is to much , has for the cost if it was to go ahead.
The land that Heathrow is on now, BAA would sell it ,would that not cover at least 1/2 of the cost to build the new airport.
That is persuming that BAA were to run any new London Airport,if not what would they do?

Does anyone know which if any U.K. airports apart from Heathrow feature in Emirates A380 emergency plans ?
Thanks for your time and trouble.
    Be lucky
    David

I may be wrong , but I think the only other place tn the UK that Emirates, will us has a diversion is Manchester.
We nearly had one before Christmas due to Fog at Heathrow.
Manchester at the mo can take only 1 at a time, sure this will change in the future.

The Mist was based on a Stephen King novella/short story, published in one of his anthologies some years ago – about a New England township trapped inside a supermarket while strange monsters besiege them from within the mist outside.

    The same film, perhaps?

What a muppet I am ,it is the same film , I watched it after a recomenadtion from here, not a bad film with a very good twist at the end.

    Big Trouble in Little China

Kurt Russell , a very chessey film and funny in parts ,lots of kung Fu action , along with some magic and scorcery, but it passed a couple of hours in the early morning sat at work.

A quick question is The Mist (2007) a remake of a film I watched about 4 months ago, also called the Mist , sounds very much like it ,A storm ,locked up in a supermarket and strange flying blood thirsty creatures.
