If you need motivating to play 100% for your country, the player needs to take a good long look at himself.

True to a certian extent ,but if you get no feedback from your manger then you dont feel motivated.
Most of the team out there walk in to there club teams week in week out wither they play bad or good,just look at Lampard and Terry or Gerrard,unless they are injured they get in to there team,where is the motivation to play well ?.The same with the national team if you get in it and play **** and get away with it why pull your tripe out when your manager does not care.

England have some decent players, with Rooney (when behaving himself), wright-phillips, lennon, hargreeves and many others.

We have potential, but many of the players lack any passion whatsoever, they give up for the last half hour of every game, and have lacked a manager who can properly motivate them for years, all concerned should be ashamed with their efforts.

As such, I think that Croatia will be the team I cheer on. They beat England fair and square and showed some zeal and desire to win, which makes a nice change.

I agree ,all the games that Sven and muppet have had incharge motivation was the one thing that was lacking.
I heard a story the other day now I dont know if it is true,but I heard that Sven never gave a team talk when in charge of England,be it before the match or at halftime,now a poor second half was a problem under Sven remmeber the World Cup in Japan and under the muppet it has been a problem again,if it is true them the person giving the team talk is doing no good and not motivating the team,and who is the person involved all the time.

England have 1 player who I would say has a football brain, that is Joe Cole (another would be Paul Scholes, but he has retired from internationals) – the rest are all about forcing the game with power and energy.

Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard don’t have the subtlety to play international football to a high standard. Good club players (well Gerrard is, I don’t particularly rate Lampard), but not world class. Wright-Phillips is good at what he does, but the build up to giving him the ball is very one-dimensional.

Crouch is barely worthy of playing in a championship team, never mind an international side. Defoe??? Ha ha ha

I agree with everything you said,we have to start somewhere and with a manager that will show some balls in team choices and pick players that are playing well,and not cos they have always been there ,the likes of and Lampard and Gerrard must never play for England again they are just not good enough,in the case of Bridge, Crouch NEVER have been good enough and Beckham and Sol are just passed it.
Yrs the likes of Lescott and SWP and even Carson have a lot to learn,along with Rooney and Owen we have the start of a world beating team,when Foster is fit he will be the number one goalkeeper.
We have to start playing more matches has a team,you cant expect 20 players to play has a team when they only meet up a few times a year

You have to realise (along with the rest of your country and the media) that your team is not that good. Technically poor, tactically poor, mentally extremely poor. Power and aggression can only take you so far, they couldn’t be aggressive on that pitch last night and were torn apart.
