Wasn’t he sent off in the 1998 World Cup for stamping on a Saudi player?

In fact he has been sent of a few times for similer things.
But nothing compared to what is in those vids,they are just brutal, the second one has to be one of the worst fouls I have seen,if it was in public and not on the football pitch he would of been arrested and banged up

IMO France deserved to win,there was a second penalty not given,not to mention the penatly that gave the victory to Italy against Australia…

All in all it was one of the worst competitions i remember,the World Champions,won against Australia (with a fraud penalty),Ghana (no comment),draw with USA and beating Germany (only real encounter) ,only to find France and again win because the 2nd penalty wasn’t given.

Zidane made a mistake to lose his temper,it must have been the tension of the final together with the fact that he was finishing his career and from what i read his mother was maybe at hospital?

Anyway,mistake for Zidane,will remain a stain ,but i must confess,Materazzi is a butcher,not a footballer and i am not surprised that he was the one that made Zidane lose it.It appears that Mr. Materazzi is an expert at being ” a nice person”.

I have read that report and no matter what was said to him what he did was not right.If FIFA can prove that the Italian did say somethinig that bad that Zidane did what he did then FIFA have to do something abuse towards a fellow player is just has bad as the diver’s and cheats that are rife in world football. 😡
On a better note Zidane has quite righly been awarded player of the World Cup 😀

Our so called manager had no idea what to doand when plan A failed and Owen got injured,he was lost had no plan B or in fact any plan.

Well Italy won, but I will not congradulate them, what was said by that player to spark Zidane up into such a violent responce? We are talking about one very placid guy here. Italy have cheated their way through the games and now I am totally convinced that there is no justice body in FIFA. The FIFA ruling body don’t care for promotion of fair play and good sportsmanship, they are only interested in the big bucks and to bring in the big bucks you have to bring in the big teams, sure you can throw in a novelty act here and there, change areas so that lesser countries have to really fight to get in to the final games but FIFA is allegedly corrupt and, in my opinion, the Refs are complete morons.

I have to disagree there the ref tonight I thought had a good match in fact a good World Cup,the two players her has sent off he had no choice.Has for Zidane like Gray said NOTHING can justify what he did no matter what was said.
Just like when Cantana dropped kicked that fan ,he was quite righly banned for 9months ,if it was not his last match tonight he would of got banned for a long time.

no I agree nothing can make what he did right,If that had happened on the street by on of use we would of been arrested and changed with ABH.
A sad last match for who IMHO is the best midfield player i have seen 🙁 and now will not be remembered for the two goals in the 98 Final but his headbutt tonight.

Well I spent all waiting for the Final match in a dour World Cup 🙁
Hopeing that France and Italy would produce the feast of football we all needed.
The match started well with a dodgy penalty put away just about and then an very good Italian goal to draw level and even the BBC was saying that this could be a classic 😀 and then what happens 😮 nothing it turned out to be just has bad as the rest of the World Cup boring with neither team looking like they wanted to win it.
Apart from maybe the first 10 mins of the secong half,when France came out and looked good 🙂
The second half was sp boring that i feel asleep 😮 woke up to hear the final whistle.
So we had extra time in a World Cup Final that promised so much and again produced nothing ,only another red card 😮 Zidane takes out the Italian with a headbutt 😮 what was he doing his whole football life distroyed in a split second of madness 🙁
Well Italy won on penaltys INHO not a good way to win the World Cup , they should play on till somebody scores.
The Final has not change my thoughts about this World Cup THE WORST EVER 😮
Roll on South Africa 2010(If they get to hold it but thats another story) and we go thought it all again 🙂
