    Two thoughts

    Thank god Brown’s finally gone.

What does a Deputy PM do (other than pie-eating, riding around in a fleet of Jaguars and knocking off his secretary)?

    Moggy

In this case it is more than likley a job in title only and to apease Nick Clegg ,he cant really have any power can he.?
God forbid that anything happens to Cameron and he is left in charge 😮

I found this online encyclopedia. It might give Wikipedia a run for their money. And certainly clears up many uncertainties, have a look at the aviation page…>

    Check it out here.

mmm had me going there for a minute 😀

Airspace over Scotland and Northern Ireland will be closed from 7am tomorrow due to the Icelandic ash cloud, the Civil Aviation Authority has said.
Flights in the North of England and North Wales could also be affected in the afternoon if the ash continues to move south.

    Haven’t we been here before?

Haven’t we realised that modern jet engines can battle through ash clouds in low densities and that all ash clouds coming from Iceland are low density by the time they reach the UK?

Was it not decided to continue flying regardless?

Is also the problem , that nobody really knows what damage ash causes and at what level is safe.
I really dont see your objection to he grounding’s , if there is even a remote chance that ash could cause the downing of a flight , it is the right thing to ground them.

yes but were higher levels od ash not set for safe flying and these new clouds exceed the new higher levels.

If its not safe to fly them you dont fly , you dont change the ruls just to make it safe.
The new levels were set by the egine maker’s and the airlines I think.

Apart from the static Trident, was there ever a Trident sim/cockpit at the AVP at some time?

Iam sure the lad that rebuild the Mancester Trident said on here a while ago that ,there was a Trident sim either at the airport or being brough there.

Yeah that is OK , but he was talking about leaving his car inattended for hours on end.
The local scrotes that see any car that has been left for more than a few hours and by somebody that is is not local is fair game and yes he may get away with it a few time but not many.
I used to park my car a few years ago near the Ertrop Hotel ,it is a busy area with a business park next to it and I had my car done twice in a month.

    Not recommended!

Leave your car parked on the street in Woodhouse Park, and there’s a good chance that it won’t be there when you return.

I assure you that I’m neither joking nor exaggerating.

I agree with Lance on this one , I have had a car stolen form Woodhouse Park.
But there is a case for the MCSP at Civic ,its quite safe and partoled all day.
But has with any MSCP there is a chance of damage to you car.

The official website says you can still buy them.

Thats what the wesite says , this was from TAS

I can confirm that TAS/The Aviation Shop have been instructed to only sell
the tickets to those renewing their existing tickets. Sadly, if you haven’t
previously purchased a multi-use entrance ticket, you will not now be able
    to purchase one.

Like other recent AVP management decisions, the Aviation Society had no
input in to this change of policy.

Been confirmed now , no new multi enrty tickets can be bought.
TAS/AVP have been told they cant sell them.

No good ,just proves that the powers in charge just want the money and dont really care about the everyday spotter , mind you have they ever.
Looks like the just want the day trippers in here.

Is their a time limit to use the advanced purchase tickets for the AVP please?

    Thanks

    Steve

There is no time limit , but there is rumours that you cant buy multi entry tickets any more and they will only renew old ones.
If its true than it is a joke.

Pity they could not double up on one flight and send in a A380.

Hi Peter, unfortunately you need to be in Canada to view the series via the Canadian history channel, which is a real pain in the ass. I suspect the same guy who helpfully designed DVD regions is working for them now!

It’s a shame as its a great series and I was as hooked on it as I was a youngster on the beachcombers!

I was lucky as there was a US website who had all the episodes ready to stream, however they obviously got their bandwidth gobbled and no longer list them.

For the UK people here, there are ways around it by using a proxy. Look up “proxy server ice pilots”

If you use firefox, Install FoxyProxy. Then add this Proxy Server 132.213.9.222 You should then be able to watch it directly off of the website.

    This link may also help:

    http://www.anonymous-proxies.org/2010/01/watching-ice-pilots-on-history-channel.html

you could if you wanted too DL from a torrents site not that you would it is illegal .
