It can also be verified on TLC, History Channel, Military Channel/Wings, Ect.
Wait a sec are you saying this can be verified by televison channels/shows? Seriuosly? Those are certainly some reputable sources!
The language in that report you qouted sure looks “definite” with words like rumors, reportedly, There is every reason to believe and supposedly.
Doesnt sound either verifiable or have very strong documentation.
I am I dont know much about this type of stuff aside from making a living out of real research. Using words like this would get my *ss is hot water!
This thread comes up like clockwork every year…
🙂
Both those photos have been proven to be fake, there is a discussion on the board about the first one in particular…
One of those is obviuosly not from Kahzakistan. I’ll let you guys decide which!!!!:diablo:
Great thread! Keep it up guys! Still looking for some Swedish intercept pictures. I know they are out there!
Keep it up!
I’ve never seen one i splinter camo, only a more traditional camo pattern.
I heared a rumor on another site that the Philipene Air Force is currently interested in buying some Ex-USAF A-10A’s, to replace or supplement some of the oldest serving OV-10’s.
other aircraft being concidered are the F-16, JAS-39, M2000 and F-5E (all second hand)can someone confirm this
They couldnt even afford to operate thier F-5’s! I cant imagine they could operate any of the above mentioned aircraft, though the A-10 does make a bit of sense for them.
From my race engine (cars) building days PB Blaster works wonders, I doubt you can get it in Yurp, but for anyone in North America, give it a try.
Wow… I can hardly see across the room from all the CRACK being smoked in here.
in ure dreams pal
Joke dude, Joke….
As you probably know there was already an arrangement of sorts for this from 1960 and on, in the form of Polaris-equipped subs right off the western coast of Sweden, protected from Soviet ASW assets by Swedish forces. (IIRC at least one Soviet SSK heading towards the southern tip of Sweden was hit by depth charges and forced to head home in the 80’s.) With a cooperation on nuclear assets already in place, what you say makes sense.
By the by, wasn’t the Swedish nuke bomber canceled when the early Viggen studies showed that the new plane would be able to reach Murmansk and Leningrad? (This would before the non-proliferation treaty in 68.)
Yes there was a nuke capable bomber planned by Saab in the late 1970’s.
Regarding the comment about only two Viggens saw being unreliable.
Jackonicko- The person i talked with worked on developing systems on the Viggen for 15 years with DataSaab, so he worked with them on a daily basis with in Linkoping. These were the only two he saw modified like this. He worked very closely with the devlopement and fielding of the Viggen and worked on the early stages of the Gripen. I believe he knows what he is talking about with these systems. I dont think the develpment and/or fielding went much past this, but i do find it interesting.
The thoery about the IAf is also interesting, but I would agree with Jackonicko that it never went far enough to warrant this type of devlopement or research.
djcross- There is a NSC document talking about this, basiclly Sweden was under NATO’s nuclear umbrella… I will find the exact NSC document later tonite.
All in all I find Swedens flirtation with nuclear weapons to be very interesting.
Agreed, but why only two Viggens and so late in thier career. (This was late 1970’s, very early 1980’s.) I would imagine that would have been incorporated from day one.
Sweet! Do you think I could order my Mig-35 with suicide doors???
NATO AWACS base Geilenkirchen (Germany)
what do they have to hide here?
All the AWACS the Serbs shot down!:dev2:
I think he is looking for information on a specific engagment, not a general overview of the two aircrafts performance against each other.
You must be kidding me, this thread is nearly 7 years old. Stop wasting our time.
