Yea i saw that… There are even opening some in the States, NY i believe. I was just lamenting to a Canadian here in Uppsala that I miss my daily Timmy’s, Swedish coffee, while good, is no substitute. (Nor is crappy, pricey Starbucks for that matter.)
The reason Canada is buying the C-17s is to acquire the ability to deliver Tim Horton’s mobile restaurant by itself everywhere around the world where Canadian troops are serving:
AWESOME! As an American studying air power and strategic studies in Canada i often use Tim Horton as a humorous example of Wardens Five Ring model… It is the critical COG in Canadian life, you can take Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal, but bomb the Timmys and you hit the critical node. The response i get from Canadian audiences concerning this is often funny as well, half nearly die falling off thier seats from laughter, the other half are very quiet…. Interesting…
BTW I am now hooked on Timmys…License to print money.
As many know my interest in the Svenska Flygvapnet I found this little gem hunting down a AH-64 with Tre Kronor markings…
Bingo! Got it! The Tre Kronor is on the engine nacelle….
I’ve seen the pics of the Apache in Swedish markings… anyone have it and care to post? (its not in splinter camo though)
They didnt buy either, Apache was too expensive and Mi-28 i believe did not have the operating capablities they were seeking… BTW I am there now and will ask around a bit more as to the exact story. Will take a week or so.
Thank You. That made me wanna check out the Diego Garcia Air Base on Google Earth. The place is simply beautiful !
What kind of damage was sustained from the tsunami last year?
I was in Billings today as well. I’d been there for the last couple of weeks, and had stopped by the airport to take some shots of the A-26’s across the field when the B-17 roared in for landing. 😎 Very cool suprise!
There are A-26’s at Logan? what for? have to check them out next time i am there! That would be a checkmark in the postive catagory for Billings, one of teh very very few. Wont be there until i get back from Sweden in Sept.
PS very nice pics everyone!
eh? those ventral fins? are huge, what kind of landing gears were put on the Crusader III?
The fins folded up when the landing gear was lowered…
i love the Crusader.. one of the best looking American fighters ever made.. when was the last US F-8 retired.. the Phillipines also operated them for a while i think.. 🙂
I think France was the only foreign operator…
One of my favorite planes ever… Cant remember what the book was called but when i was little read a great book about F-8’s flying off Florida newest reef, the Oriskany… Maybe “Feet Wet”?????
Honestly I don’t know. I am not an expert in neither PC nor military aircraft.
I copy it from somewhere I cannot remember.
But I am not suprised US Navy keep some SU27 for practise.
Guys i just told you before! They are FAKE read the article i posted!
Are the pictures of the Sukhoi in US Navy markings real? If so when and where did they get them? I know that the US had some Mig29s, but didn’t know about the Sukhois.
Not real, i think they are from this article though. http://www.flightjournal.com/fj/articles/su27/su27.asp
