Can’t you buy your stock from them instead of the wholesellers?
If only it were that simple, whilst not presuming to answer on behalf of Mr Merry, from my own experience I would respond as follows.
Manufacturers / suppliers encourage you to pre-order all of the new kits well in advance of their release date – often months before.
Release dates approach; you only receive partial supplies or none at all, with production & shipping issues being cited as the reason for this delay.
Bigger outlets receive larger quantities (bulk purchasing can be a good lever), but then they cease trading – and then surprise, surprise, your stock starts to comes through!
The real kick in the teeth comes when the other stock then comes starts to come onto the market at rock bottom prices – great for the modellers, but not great for the smaller independent retailers.
I believe that such a scenario is partially alluded to in here!
Sadly it’s not easy to maintain good customer relations and an established clientele on the basis that you might occasionally pick-up some cheap stock!
