Heres a picture of the 1-11 graveyard taken at Southend in the mid 1990s. I cant be shure exactly when as all my records were lost in a house fire. I think the two dan air 1-11s are 500 series. Im not too sure about the third, maybe British Eagle? I have plenty more of the scrapyard if you would like too see them, as security wasnt too tight at Southend then.

The square tail Daks are all ex US Navy. Im not too sure why the modification was done.

Great pics.
Im flying out on EZY in December to CGN. Do you have any tips about the best place to view from?
Thanks
Steve
Thanks for your reply I will try again later today.

Yay, uploaded from the PC not Yahoo. The pic was taken at Portimao airfield which is about 40m east on the coast from Faro. It was one of two Dornier 28s that were carrying out paradropping onto Portimao Airfield.
Steve.
ok it didnt work, lets try direct from my PC.
Great pics, especially the FDX MD-11. Its a photogenic and aggressive looking aircraft, thanks for posting them.

Is this Cessnas first two seat since the 150? If so im sure it will be a big hit with flying schools.

Try this one:
great coverage from most parts of the world apart from the UK as the CAA (Campaign Against Aviation) do not allow rebroadcast of ATC.
Try listening to Dublin as its the closest feeder site to the UK

I have never flown BA since the farce I experienced on a Heathrow/ Glasgow/ Benbecula flight almost 10 years ago.
I booked through a BA agent. Our flight pulled back 5 mins early from Heathrow but then spent over an hour and a half holding / taxying. In mid flight I pointed out to the purser that I was connecting with BA onto the Benbecula flight and was wondering if I would make it. Her downright shameful reply was ‘Everybody knows these flights leave Heathrow late. you should of booked on the earlier flight’!
Fortunately the ATP for the next leg was tech so I made the connection as it was delayed too. About 40 pax from LHR-GLA were connecting as well to BEB and were all non too happy.

I had a spam a week or so ago reportedly from an executor of the estate from someone who dies in a Kenya Airways crash in 2001 asking for my bank details etc etc.
Do people still fall for this crap?

What did the F-4 have that was better than the F-104? They basically had the same engine, the J-79. One had short stubby wings that made it glide like a brick, while the other had 2 engines, bent wings and a tail that looked like it was falling off, and flew like a brick. Was it avionics, payload? Why was one a total success and still flying today and the other a marginal success?
dave
The F104 was designed when straight line speed and altitude was deemed all important in Air to Air Combat. Although European Airforces did use the F104 as a mud-mover it was only ever originally designed as an interceptor. The F4 was truely multi-role.
By was of a side thread am I the only one who sees a similarity between the F104 and the U2? Blunt the F104s nose and stretch its wings massivley, hey presto.
Lets keep fingers crossed that the T45 does not go the way of the replacement the T85. The 42 has been a great servant for the RN but is desperatly in need of replacement. They are horrible ships to be on in warm weather. For example in hot waters and weather such as the Gulf the cold water tank is in the bow of the ship so it gets super heated so you get burned if you want a shower. The messdecks get very stale and sweaty and are very cramped.
Has the T45 been designed to give the crew a greater degree of comfort?
What is the AAW fit for the T45? The 42s load was quite limited with just over 20 Sea Dart, but to go in their favour when fired the Darts were accurate and able to be used in surface to surface mode in addition to surface to air.

Hi
forget all the stereotypes about cabincrew. I for one feel happier if their is at least one male as part of the cabin crew on a flight. Cabin crew are not trolly dollies they are in the cabin to keep you safe if there is ever an incident. If you need to be hauled from your seat and thrown down an escape chute then a strong guy is just what you need. Keeping us ‘self loaders’ fed and watered is nice but when it comes down to the crunch cabin crew are here to save your ass not kiss it.
Apply and to hell with those who mock you.

Hi there Steve..welcome to the forum..it’s good to see you’re using your real name instead of one of those silly pseudonyms
Ohhhh I forgot about using a pseudo, think I will change my I.D. to ‘Northern Monkey FDX MD11’.
🙂
