When the A380 first flew it was about 80 tonnes overweight. The weight was shed throughout the flight test program through continuous refinment. Does anyone know if the 787 will come in on weight or will it fly overweight?

A spokesman from MAPLC was on Radio5 earlier this evening. Apparently they were charging Ryanair £3 per pax. Having recently had the displeasure of flying on Ruinair for the first and the last time I can state that I was charged way more than £3 on charges. Can anyone please explain Ruinairs pricing re passing on Airport charges bar ‘rip-em off’.

Goodbye to bad rubbish. I have flown on EZY and LS recently and their products are far superior to Ruinairs. Lets hope they move swiftly to take up vacant slots.

How can our government hope to get this one running when they cant even manage to get 8 Chinooks into the air?

If this projects goes ahead and point to point domestic flights from airports that are within a catchment terminus are stopped then will the APD on unaffected flights where rail is still much slower (MAN-NQY) be dropped?

Given that a large proprtion of Ryanairs Pax are people going away on their week(s) holiday, it will prevent these people from travelling with Ryanair. Is MOL mad? A large majority of his Central and Southern European destinations are holiday destination. With his ill thought out plan he has now effectively axed these passengers from his flights. This has played right into the hands of Easyjet et al who should now benefit from these extra passengers.

If I were the CEO of Easyjet, to jump on the bandwagon I would now abloish all charges to check in hold luggage for free.

As an aside. Before Ryanair imposed ‘cost saving’ charges to load hold luggage, I assume that your ticket price already included the price of putting a bag in the hold. Now, if you didnt put a bag in the hold shouldnt you of got a discount on your ticket :dev2:

Unfortunatly the F3 will be destined for the scrapyard or museum. The role it was designed for; to loiter on CAP 200nm North East of Shetland and then down the North Sea Cost so it can ripple fire AAMs at incoming Soviet Bombers no longer exists.

Not just the RAF, but Airforces in General now need a platform that can fly an Air Defence mission, land, rerole as reece, fly and land the rerole as a strike platform.

The type will soldier on for a few years in the RAF; although im sure the treasury would like it to be withdrawn sooner ( im sure Labour would love to see the RAF reduced to just operating rotary, and then just a handful so they can squander the cash on more loonie left pinko policies – woah little bit of politics there!!!).

The F3 will soldier on with 1435 flt for a while longer too. Be ready for that Bimbo of a Bird who runs Argentine to kick up a stink when we do replace the F3s with Typhoon ‘You increasing your caypabeelity in theeee Malveeeeenash, me no like, me airforcccccce still verybad’.

The F3 has been a stalwart, but its now redundant.

Loganair BN2 Islander flying from Sumburgh to Unst in February.

The headwind was so strong that on approach we were barely moving forward. The turbulence was so bad that we were bouncing around all over the place. I cracked my head off the window while looking out. We were still 50 to 75 foot in the air as we went over the threshold when the pilot throttled back and stuck the nose downwards. The stall alarm sounded and the nose went down even further. It was put down with a whack like I have never felt before. We used only 30 or 40 foot of runway, even the pilot took a deep breath when we stopped.

If you are after adventure and a bit of variety why not try Aeroflot from London to Bangkok via Moscow. Then book an Eastern LoCo for your onward flight to Oz.

I can vouch for KLMs long haul product as superb, if you want to miss out Dubai. If you want to go through the middle east that check out Qatar.

I believe Finnair have a good far east operation.

    Happy Flying
