OK, so ALL manufacturers don’t do PR/publicity shots, but as has already been pointed out in a previous post, the shot was taken in 2008 during trials work, so its academic really anyway…

Austrian AF practice intercept on DLH A380 (pictures)
Evening all, whilst searching for Hi-Res pics of ‘bombed-up’ Typhoons, I came across this article, http://air-ace.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/austria-eurofighter-typhoon-on-qra.html nothing that interesting other than it has some great shots of Austrian AF Typhoons in flight…

As long as I am going to see this kind of useless and silly load just to show big things under the wings :
I mean , what ‘s the range with such load , drag and no fuel ?
Its a PR/Publicity shot, can’t you see that? ALL manufacturers/air forces do it! No air force on earth would actually load up aircraft like this operationally and expect to get much further than the airfield boundary!

Certainly a RAF A330. You can clearly identify the A330’s winglets as well as the darker grey lightning flash on the forward fuselage.
I concur, definitely a RAF Voyager…

Opinions?
Crap…

Looking forward to seeing the 787 at EMA next May though…
Thanks for the update Deano, its great to see FlyBe doing more routes from my ‘home drome’, although, as has already been said, it will be a shame to see WW disappear. I wish all the Staff/CabinCrews/Aircrews the best of luck finding onward employment…

Hopefully another airline will pick up the slots but oh by all the gods don’t let it be Ryanair!!!!:(:(:(:(
You might be in luck, apparently FlyBe are going to be expanding at EMA by picking up some of routes flown by BMIBaby, from June i think…

Really there is nothing in this, how it’s always been

Ouch!!!!!! That looked very painful! Nice ar$e on the woman running to her aid though… :diablo:
But seriously though, I can just imagine her boyfriend had said, “come on, it’ll be a right laugh…”

I would’ve thought, given their position, they are nothing more than ‘sun blinds’ used for removing extraneous light from the cockpit and possbly radiated heat from the sun at high altitudes, and maybe also glare on the instruments when they are concentrating on offensive maneouvres, early F-4G rear cockpits had a similar item for the same reason. They look to be pretty much useless for much else, except maybe catching 40 winks on the quiet! 😉

I am surprised to hear that they are still flying F-21 Kfir in Agressor service.
They’re not flown by the US Navy, they’re operated by a civilian company – http://www.atacusa.com/index.html

I think this is probably the definitive answer, regarding G-BLUS at least, http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=60&pagetype=65&appid=1&mode=detailnosummary&fullregmark=BLUS
Quite where the other sites I’ve looked at showing 1999 have gotten that from is a mystery!

Indeed it was, however, it was retired from Air Lanka in 1988 according to airlinerlist and airfleets have it as active with BA then, to be honest its all a bit confusing. Most of the sources i’ve checked appear to have mildly conflicting dates as to when BA last had TriStars, the 7/99 date is when airfleets show G-BLUS as last active with BA, my head is now spinning…
-Daz
The last one to leave the fleet was G-BLUS on 1/7/99

“…the incoming contingent will patrol the airspace with six single-seated F-4 Phantom fighters.”
single-seat???
Have I missed something…
