Wasn’t this big bird severely damaged after an hard landing a couple of years ago? Maybe I’m confused ….

Hand, not sure about a hard landing but it did have a ground incident at RKT a while back, maybe this is what you’re thinking of…

…As an aside, I have heard of people being prosecuted for having police frequencies stored in the radios memory so be careful what you store!

I think the rozzers have moved to an all digital set-up now, so even if you have got ‘Fuzz FM’ programmed into your scanner it probably won’t matter…

Got a Yupiteru MVT7100 myself and its very good, if a bit fiddly to set up initially.

A couple of points, the plane did not do a ‘go round’

Actually, it seems a GA was attempted but following birds being ingested into the No.2 engine as well, and the resultant loss of power, this was quickly aborted…

The deal for bmi was done many years ago, what you are seeing now is just posturing.

Exactly, if LH don’t excercise their right to buy Bishop’s stake I’ll eat my hat, and several others besides…

Hi Phil just had another look at my pic and although almost identical mine is of XV494, not XV415, wouldn’t have asked you to remove it though! Great news regarding ‘airscene’ they did a great set of articles on the glory days of RAF Wattisham and I believe a book is about to be, or has been, published based on those aricles.

It will be a shame if the site has finished, had a lot of good articles on it over the years.
By the way Phil I like your avatar, it looks almost indentical to a photo I have on Jetphotos.net (under a different username to the one my signature links to) that I took at RAF Wattisham at the last public open day in 1992….;)
