The more things change the more they stay the same…..memories of Eastern ordering A300’s and then failing and then PanAm ordering A310’s 10-15 years later and then failing. One can trace the failed U.S. carriers by their big Airbus orders. In fact, can anyone name a large U.S. carrier that has ever ordered/operated large numbers of Airbus widebodies and not gone out of business?
No doubt AI gave them a great deal up front, and then will really twist the knife when it comes to parts and support. But in the meantime everyone puts on a happy face, the employees at AI have work, and the USAirways people get new airplanes. Most of them probably don’t have any idea about the history and what it portends.
There has been some monumentally stupid and shortsighted things spoken by Boeing fan-boys regarding Airbus aircraft on this – and other – forum, but this is just about the biggest pile of horse sh!t i’ve had the misfortune to read yet……

Its gonna be a good one!!:D 😀 😀
The flying display isn’t, its pathetic, no solo F.3, no solo GR.4, no solo GR.9, no solo Jaguar – for obvious reasons – the only solo FJ is the Typhoon, and to a lesser extent, the hawk!
No foreign military flying – Indian contingent excepted – although I’m sure the invites were sent to foreign military units. Waddo is shadow of its former self, although the static line-up looks pretty good.

PS: I wonder if the Tinkers will retalliate???
Count on it!

Personally i don’t think the livery is that bad, wether the venture is a success though remains to be seen, theres already been rumblings on pprune regarding the cabin crew side of the operation…………………

Not sure about the deployment dates but they’ll be present in the static line-up at the airshow. http://www.waddingtonairshow.co.uk/

Do you have the hex code of the 763 that operated the flight?

As for one person owning aeroplanes, I seem to remember that I read somewhere that bmi and bmiBaby aircraft are all owned by Sir Michael Bishop’s holding company (owned totally by him) and then leased to bmi and Baby.
To the best of my knowledge – which is admittedly small(!) – the only aircraft fully owned by BMI are the Embraer fleet, this lack of full ownership of aircraft apparently caused some degree of consternation with the CAA some years ago, not sure what the issue was though.

The German air force is retireing them in 2010.
As far as I know the planned OSD for GAF F-4s is currently 2012.

…It will of course result in less lift which could be recoved with more power.
Which in turn will increase fuel burn…….
