Well, it is the sole fighter to crash 2 times before being operational
lol
I seem to remember the Gripen bumped into the ground a couple of times before it was fully operational, not that it makes any difference whatsoever to capabilities of the end product, apart of course from the bugs that are ironed out of the FCS as a result…………..

If you can get to EMA on monday (26th) F-WWDD will be doing a low approach/go-around between 1100/1130 (according to ema webby) and then on to RR Derby.

I think BA are genuinely interested, if they thought the aircraft was the white elephant some people are hoping for they would be showing no interest at all. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it might just be possible that the airlines are privvy to slightly more information than the legions of armchair CEOs and aircraft designers that populate this and other forums have access to. Personally I’m waiting for the reaction to the sure to be announced 787 blip! This mini rant is brought to you by the latter ‘D’ and several glasses of beer, is aimed at no-one in particular and everyone in general!

Adam, G-MIDK(G-OZBN) was apparently on airtest – hence the 39,000ft alt – G-MONX was the aircraft that should have been in the circuit base training, out of interest G-MIDJ(G-OZBM) deaparted for LUT last night, standing by to be corrected.

Huh? You have misread my post. I know very well that the MR.2s have the MAD boom. Why would I post a link to images of R.1s to highlight the lack of said boom? He believed he saw a Comet with no ‘radome’. I am under the impression that he is referring to the boom.
TEEJ , my apologies, i did indeed misread your post.

Dazza.
Absent.
Now that’s what I call “Pedant mode.”
:diablo:
Touche!
-Dazza;)
Pedant mode on:
TEEJ, only the MR2s have the MAD boom, its abscent on the R.1.
Pedant mode off:
-Dazza;)
The nimrod hasn’t had a (proper) radome on the tail since the demise of the AEW Mk.3.

Not to sound rude Dazza, but how can you possibly be aware of where every F-4 Phantom still in service in Europe is located at anyone time.
PII, trust me if any F-4s were in the UK for exercises or otherwise, it would have popped up one of the dedicated forums, an event like F-4s coming to the UK, however brief, would not go un-noticed!;)
However I’m more than happy to be proved wrong!:D
