I remember reading somewhere that explosive bolts were the method for jettisoning the overwing tanks, or “overburgers” as they were known, the extensive stencilling on the wing pylons refers to the explosive bolts and the caution required during removal and fitting by the ground crew, as was mentioned by Paul in his reply the ability to jettison was removed and the tanks themselves were rarely fitted anyway, the tanks did make a reappearance however when a number of airframes (XR724,XR773,XS904 and XS928) were transferred to BAe at Warton in support of the Tornado radar trials.

There were rumours a while back about a podded version of the Blue Vixen being developed, there was even a photo of an Andover(?) with a mystery pod under the fuselage which was thought to be said pod, never heard any more about it though.

Definitely USAF/USAFE F-4Es, thats the ‘European 1’ or ‘Lizard’ camo scheme, I’ve seen it look even darker than this is some photos!:)
I’ve seen pictures of 4 TFW machines at Ramstein circa mid 1980s on a cross country jaunt, maybe its those guys?
