RE: Rolls-Royce Trent
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 24-11-02 AT 08:54 PM (GMT)]Read about this in Aircraft Illustrated a while back, or was it AFM, anyway regardless of the benefits in noise reduction, I think it looks great.

RE: how do you reduce photos
I use Adobe Photo Shop to reduce the size of pictures, you also have the option with Photo Shop of setting the quality of the image to be saved, a small reduction in image quality can reduce the file size considerably without a greatly appreciable loss in visual quality.

RE: Need info and quick pls!
I read an article recently written by an A320 pilot and he wrote ‘Even with a 170,000lb aircraft, take-off acceleration is pretty good. Given a light aircraft and a cool day, the acceleration rate can be even more eye opening’, the article also went on to say that the IAE V-2500 engines are proving to be reliable and efficient.
If you are refering to the rate at which the engines spool up then I don’t know wether the IAE engines are slower than CFMs.
Hope this is of some help.

RE: First pic of the Cathay Pacific A340-600!
Sooooooooooooooooo very long!, and those RR Trents are monsters too.

RE: Pic Of The Day-A B747-300/400
Cool pic!, How come an aircraft is allowed to fly with an aerodynamic surface missing, since the winglets are designed to reduce drag won’t this wing will now generate slightly more drag than the other one, surely assymetric handling issues would arise from having a missing winglet?. Maybe Wysiwyg can clarify.

RE: 558 hopes dashed ?
Considering how annoyed I am about this, if I try and post a measured reply it will no doubt just descend into a tirade of swearing, prognostications of doom and the bestowing of many curses!, so I’ll just say this…..x( and 🙁
Annoyed, Dazza.
RE: Both Flypast and AFM gone down now?
Don’t know why its happened but its getting very annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: The Lightning
And lets not forget the gun pack with its ammunition right in front of the ventral fuel tank or the delightfully volatile Avpin tank not far behind the pilot!:-)

RE: Boeing to scrap sonic cruiser idea!
Wysiwyg I think your right about the 737NG, with Airbus launching the A318 it is bound to rob sales from Boeing for ultra modern short haul aircraft, the 747 as well is fundamentally an old design and they can’t continue to rely on various tweaks and fuselage stretches to generate sales, they really need to pull something out of the bag, and soon.

RE: Whats been your fav 10 songs of this year so far?
Oh yeah Manowar, not average, untalented or contemptable are they!:P Those guys do not do Heavy Metal/Rock any favours at all.
I know everyones taste in music is individual and subjective but being a fan of the heavier side of music I just shrivel with embarrassment every time I see a Manowar video.

RE: Boeing to scrap sonic cruiser idea!
Lets face it, Boeing dropped the ball by not developing a credible alternative to the A380, I think they got quite a shock with the interest shown when the A380 was launced and finally realised too late there is a market for this type of airliner, I bet theres a few concerned people over in Seattle right now.
