It’s apparently a very common occurrence…
Dear god I hope that ain’t the truth?!?!
Great shots. On the contrary, I love the Nimrod, it’s got a funny grace about it and an awesome wingspan.
Thanks for your comments guys. The logo light was a bit dodgy on landing in Malaga, so I did the right thing and told the stewardess to tell the captain that the port logo light was a bit flickery on the approach. I got ever such a funny look after her “ok thanks – port did you say?” reply.
PHEW. Did they keep the engine running or was it shut down? The report made it sound that it remained in use.
The A380 was a big gamble but it must have been viable for the whole program to go ahead. The aircraft is in it’s beta stage now, just been released to the initial customers who will report back on initial running problems so it can be fixed before it goes gold release to the mainstream of orders then the are initiated, just like software really.
Give the A380 a break, it will prevail.
Who do they pay to do the sums at Qatar? Surely before buying an aircraft, the economics have a lot to do with decisions. If you use the 340 on a short sector then abviously it ain’t gonna be as efficient as flying legs that it was designed for.
From a number of friends, the ISB route is full most of the time, so why would they wanna axe it?
Is that why its gone from a 747 to a 777 to a A310 :p 😉
Danny
The 747 was banned from British Skies because of safety reasons and the A310 is a random event. Bring back the PIA 1-11’s:D
Monarch use 321’s on charters now anyway.
I stand corrected:)
A good number of passengers travel down to Manchester form the Bradford area as well as a small number of other areas to commute home to Pakistan, so having flights from Leeds would be very viable I would have thought.
Manchester is a PIA magnet, it’s the biggest hub outside Pakistan. We are also starting to see the A310 more often now as well.
Probably the A300. You’ll be lucky to get on a MON 757 nowadays because they are being preped to leave the country, bound for Fed-Ex I think or another American Cargo carrier. Most, if not all of the 320/321’s are tied up on the daily Sched’s.
Gotta say you’re getting better all the time Rob. The best one IMO is the 3rd shot – awesome!!
I think today was a one off. I don’t know why. It would be nice if it were a regular flight though. We have no scheduled A340 flights. 🙁
Aren’t Virgin set to start a new service to the carribean with an A340-300 from MAN?
Gotta love the old Vickers bird. I saw it departing over Mobberly and nearly rear-ended a bus.
What in the great name of creeping Jesus was the Czech Airbus doing in? Nice catch.
