    Hello my friends!

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted.

I just received an e-mail saying someone posted a reply to my message on this thread. Can’t find it, but not important at the moment, so I will post to say hey.

I believe my first airshow I attended was the last airshow at the old George Airforce Base in Victorville, California. Could have been in the late 80’s. I have program somewhere.

The first airshow I flew my Zlin 526L at was Hesperia Airshow last year and I had the priviledge to have my friend from Belgium there who I met through this forum there. I flew in my Zlin 526L with now my husband, Rob Harrison “The Tumbling Bear” … many of you know him in Europe and we have met some of his fans. One of his fans is coming out next week for a thrill ride in my airplane with Rob.

Take a look at the videos (click on Photo Gallery) on our Web site http://www.harrisonairshows.com and you can see what fun I am having.

I sold my other airplane (Commander 112TC) and now searching for a bigger one. I also sold my XKR and got a new one… LOVE that baby.

I left my job … so no goof off at work time now. Now, I just go to airshows and fly around and enjoy life. Just came back from a month in Europe (Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Italy) … loved it and can’t wait to go back. Of course, met my Belgian friend who I met through this forum and a fan in Germany in Cologne.

Miss ya guys and I hope you are all flying high.

Since I can say anything I want … then I will say: I met the greatest guy on this forum nearly two years ago. And, I got to spend two awesome vacations with him and about to go on the third time this year.

And, I have this forum to thank for that! 🙂

Auster Fan … I’ll be there in about 33 days! And looking forward to it. I even hope it snows!!!!! Then back in the summer! Why not! Life is good!

Melvyn HisCock … (sorry, that was funny … wasn’t it?!) …. that was so funny! I was ROTFLMFAO! :p

Janie … yup … we always talk about any kind of birds. All that fly.

And, Fvw 😮 still holds the record of the speeding ticket in SoCal on that XKR!

    Happy bird flying! 😀

Never ever ever park under the shade in SoCal! Never! In hours this is what being sh!tted on looks like. And, believe me … those car wash guys got a nice tip from me! :p Reason it’s parked in front of garage is cause I was going to wash it … then said … no way I’m I dealing with this! :p It went to the hand car wash … cause with the soft top … or anything … I would never put such gem through anything else. Oh my! 🙂

Oh yeah … and I do have pictures of baby dead birds and their nest that came out of under the gear of my plane … but, I can’t post that. I may get animal rights activists to hate me. 😀

Auster Fan: Why did you even bring up Ozzieb88? 😡 That is one little dumb-azz …. he wouldn’t even make it on a Young Eagle’s Flight. Disqualified. And, if there were one way rides in SpaceShipOne, I think we would all chip in and send him off to space!! … he would look like this: 😮

Frankvw: someone misses you driving/flying her. 🙂 But, not for long … second time around is always better! 😉 Nothing like having a co-pilot. And, don’t worry about that yellow CHP souvenir , it proves you drove it fast. :p And like that old song: “baby you can drive my car” … anytime! :p

Yak II Fan: Both XKR and Commander TC have cruise control. Ask fvw … he knows … it works great! And fvw is right on the 400 HP … that is 2x’s the HP on the Commander TC … oh well … both are nice. And, nothing like feeling that Supercharge kick in .. and nothing like feeling that turbo kick in.

John C: Very smart you are. And sure, in Belgium for now … but one that enjoys the pleasures of truly enjoying commercial flights, stepping into private flights. :p Isn’t aviation great!?

It was nice to see that most of you did nothing all day today! 😀 Welcome to the real world. :p We are all utilizing the best of technology there is. 😮 Really!? Good. 🙂 And, the more you practice delegation, the more you master it! :p But fist, for those who are real young … work hard … cause you need to learn the ropes so when you get a little older … not much, just a little, you know how to verbally instruct delegation. You must understand the function and master it … before you can hand it off.

    Cheers!

Well, well, well … good morning from SoCal … just waking up from a nice long sleep. 🙂 And, just got in the office, as I was speeding all the way to work and not mind, a half hour late. 😀 Don’t worry, there will be a two hour lunch break, surf all day and leave early too!

Steph: The she/he plane thing bugs me too — but for me it’s nothing like gently and slowly holding the throttle and exhilarating down the runway as the manifold pressure and the rpm’s climb and things get hot. 😎 But, important to keep an eye on the oil temp. and be sure cylinders are not too hot … honey cause when you fly a turbo … things can get real hot fast. 😉

And, totally understand in regards the stick … when I’ve flown my friends L-29, back seat, I like the way the stick feels in between … it is much easier to fly indeed.

Well, sunny again here in SoCal and sorry for your rain… I send a blink of sunshine your way. X! 🙂

And Steph … feet are not such a bad thing you know … I’ll leave it at that.

    R. Weaver: Sweetie …. excuse me … you pay? 😀 That would make you Sugar Boy, instead of Sugar Daddy then disqualifies me as Sugar Mama! :p I can take you flying when I volunteer in the Young Eagles Program, cause if you are not more than 21, then flying mile high is a no no. I keep it legal baby.

Granpop: I see you must have not minded the 5″ spikes. 🙂

Janie: No fuel guys here … too bad … it’s mostly “pump” your own and the hose is very long. And, yes, you are sharp … too young and to add to that … too dumb don’t qualify. Thanks lady!

Auster Fan: You crack me up! 😀 And, true … he probably couldn’t handle it!

Steve Young: Why just lunch time? What is wrong with you!? It seems like everyone else spent the whole day on this thread. Hope you laughed well, and hopefully didn’t swallow too hard.

Granpop: No need for camcorder … my new digital Olympus C-755 makes movies. That is so last year! 😉 And, it also is equipped with a 40X zoom.

And, Steve Young: He would return … remember that movie when he got it stuck in the zipper before the prom … darn … I can’t think of the name of the movie … well, it would be painful indeed. And that’s when the 40x’s zoom would come in handy! 😀

Granpop: One person in this forum not only is lucky … but he spent two weeks in SoCal and the only one who’s gotten a speeding ticket in my XKR … and he sure can fly the Commander well.

Bigglesworth: I like your ideas. Brilliant! 🙂 And, since I am studying IFR and next aerobatics … groundschool seems like a natural … I like taking off under the hood.

    continued ….

Well, home base is between Beverly Hills and Palm Springs … right in the middle. It’s sunny here nearly every single day. The top of the news is when it rains … which is maybe twice a year. 🙂

I am always willing to take someone up for a ride in SoCal skies. Or Nevada, or Arizona, or where ever! Anywhere I can fly to.

I fly with Joshua Approach, SoCal Approach, LA Center … they are all my buddies. Usually, when they hear me … those ATC’s kick everyone out and I sweet talk to their ears. 😉 Vectors every where! Clearance into Class B without even asking! 🙂

Well, well … it is nice at times being a female pilot. There are advantages. While training IFR, my instructor would say … they would NEVER talk to me like that.

Well, well, well … it sure is nice.

    Cheers! :p

Janie … Well, so true … I’ve not gone skydiving in some time .. perhaps I should fly to Lake Perris and jump some more times. Nearly forgot what it’s like jumping out of 11,500′ … what a high. Thanks for the reminder. 😉 And, if you ever come out to sunny Southern California … mail me and I would take you flying. Nothing like two chicks bouncing off the wing of a plane with a bunch of guys watching while eating lunch at some cafe. :p

Whiskey Delta … Proud of you baby! X! 🙂

Steph …. And, don’t worry sweet thing … just hang on to your stick .. and things will be OK. 😎

Granpop … thanks for all the compliments … and don’t worry .. my friends say I wiggle better when I wear the five inch stiletto heels .. and they say my top bounces better when I jump off the wing wearing them too. Ha! Don’t worry Granpop … a few wiggles and pretty things from Victoria’s you will get a jump start in no time. No jumper cables needed and the alternator will work fine. X! 🙂 BTW, attaching a photo taken with my digital camera for review.

Ashley and Steph … don’t let finances stop you … get creative … you won’t regret it. Even if it’s one lesson a month. And, it is feeding your soul.
    🙂

Steph (again) …. yes, one thing I find flying hard is pulling the yoke back much cause certain things get in the way! But, flat chested people don’t have that problem … well. I should stop there! But, honestly … a challenge there. But, once that soloed at 9 hours didn’t let anything stop me. :p

And, if there’s any guys in SoCal that would like to go flying sometime … my plane is out of annual this weekend. 🙂

    Cheers!

P.S. And, those who are married … their wives don’t like me … cause they don’t fly. I don’t mind getting my hands or better yet, long nails full of grease … cause they clean right up. And, my BOSE headset mic foam is covered with pink lipstick. :p And, favorite light … very very light real perfume is Organza … or Wings … cause there’s nothing nice than the mix of a COCKpit and the scent of a sweet fragrance indeed.

And, still like that song by Norah Jones … FLY AWAY with me ….

Bye guys! 😉 Life is good!

    Well, well gentlemen.

I am having similar problems here. I can’t find guys that like flying. Imagine that!? Either they are grandpa’s age or too young to …..

This is what my classified ad would read like:

Single female, drives her XKR convertible to the airport or sometimes her 3000GT to jump in her Commander TC. The Commander of course has a brand new engine. Fly’s about 130 hours a year to nice destinations. Always looking for opposite sex to enjoy flying with “miles high” above the ground. Always suggests many lessons in her plane in case she wants to relax while you fly her. 😉 She’s been a pilot for nearly 15 years and has owned a Cessna 172, Cessna 182, Cessna 210, Cherokee 140, Cherokee 180, Navion, Citabria … and doesn’t end there. When you fly with her … all expenses are paid. 😉 She wears shoes from http://www.victoriassecret.com, cause she likes the spikes to reach the rudders well. Short skirts cause it gets hot in the plane or the convertible.

Well …. I guess there’s plenty of females out there that like planes and like to fly. I find more Flight Sim guys than real pilots … and one day … one will be lucky enough to land on my lap! 😉

And, one lucky person on this forum … knows how I fly.

    X!

    P.S.

I bought my Commander 112TC, and didn’t have a High Performance / Complex rating, I earned it in the Commander. All it took was about four solid hours of training. Piece of cake.

Insurance was more than doubled when I went to high performance and now only dropped down a few hundred dollars a year. Still several thousands in insurance a year.

And, you can ask Frank vW …. he took lessons in the Commander. His first log entry was high performance. He may say he doesn’t know much about GA planes, but he sure can fly them! :p

    X!

    FLYLADY 😉

Note: Pass your written test first. I bought my first plane after a few lessons in a rented plane. Didn’t like to rent planes. And a sweet tip: perhaps you may want to hit the edit button and correct your spelling/grammar errors on your posting. 🙂

Well, my friend. I have been around planes since before I was born. True, grandma flew. Anyway … I’ve owned I believe eight different planes. List is first started in a 152 didn’t like that … so I bought my own, a 172, then got a low wing Cherokee 140, not enough power, so got a Cherokee 180 quite nicer, then aerobatics, Citabria, then 182, then 210, bought back the 172 … a Navion, had five planes in the yard at once … and now a Commander.

My advise to you is … start out with what you can afford, or your dad is willing to pay for. BTW … you are lucky indeed. I bought (myself) my first plane 14 years ago in my early 20’s and have owned the Commander for 1.5 years.

Before you check the price of the plane, cause that’s the easier part, check the insurance costs. Why? Because insurance is often the painful one for new starters. Especially for high performance. And, that is if you can find one that will insure you. Sometimes even money doesn’t talk. So, start there, before you buy a plane. You may purchase the plane and no one will insure you, therefore stuck with a nice plane you can’t fly.

In regards to other planes. The Mooney is a nice plane. Fast and slick looking. I still think the tail was put on wrong. But, a nice plane. If you are not very tall, then a good plane too. And, if you plan on flying alone and mostly short trips, then a great plane for you. I have friends that have Mooney’s and love it, but long trips, and someone sitting next to you is difficult … you must stagger the seats.

The Socata … another nice plane indeed. But, room again … same as above.

The Ciruss … nice panel … good price … but to me it still doesn’t have that sexy look as others such as Trinidad or Malibu … and the Commander.

A 115TC is nice. I’ve been in one … as the matter of fact the one featured on the Web site. Very nice plane. And, any plane can have digital panels, so consider that a custom ordered plane. After all, Dad is paying … right? He would want nothing but the best for his son.

And, my huge advise to you is … do you homework first. Then, go test flight all the planes you like. And, you will see. They are like shoes or gloves, there’s a fit for everyone.

    Regards.

Ahhhhh … another solution / suggestion … put them on a timer! 😀

Better yet … take your wife out to dinner more often.

    Or, install skylights!

Me … I hardly ever enter my kitchen! :p
