[QUOTE=The Bump;2240042]It didn’t take off,
Ah, thanks.
We were at the playground end.
Couldn’t see the other end from where we were sitting.
Did anyone find out what happened to the red nose Hawker Fury.
It took off for its display and didn’t return.
On the whole I enjoyed the display a lot.

In case anyone is interested, West London Models are selling the kit for £75 at the moment.
I am also disappointed for a number of reasons. I work only a stones throw away and have done for 30 years now. I used to be a hangar rat around the time Dick Melton was rebuilding the Mosquito. I was there the day G-PSID was test flown. I met and had a brief conversation with Gary Numan about flying. Lots of other memories triggered by reading the thread.
I would like to see some Helicopters included. With representation of the other types. Maritime, Air Sea Rescue etc.
Maybe include gliders and air cadet types as well.
Why not help Just Jane?
Two lancs seem to have pulled in the crowds this summer. Maybe because the prospect of the opportunity may never present itself again.
I would suggest a Mosquito, but I suspect it would only be a crowd draw for a season or so.
Seems to be the bigger and noisier the better for casual crowd appeal.
Maybe a cold war duo, Phantom and Mig21 would do it.
If we are including non historic , a Sukhoi crashed at the Paris air show 1999 I think. The crew got out and almost stepped onto the ground they were do low. Video available if you Google .
Plenty of video and stills of Big Beautifull Doll at Duxford.
I’ve also just listened to it. Many memories from his recent TV programme but never dull or boring.
Great music to listen to as well.
I always thought he and Alex Henshaw would make fantastic guys to be at a dinner party with.
Wish him good health for many years to come.
And thanks for all your work.
Probably a bit far for a fare paying passenger to ride in the bomb bay.
Buy some Goshawks, paint them red them fly them off the carrier until we can afford JSF!
I would also like to offer my thanks and appreciation for the efforts of everyone involved with making the visit and tour as successful as it has been.
I was fortunate to see the pair during a visit to Old Warden on bank holiday Sunday.
I hope the crew and aircraft have a safe journey the rest of the way home.
Has she got home yet?
I’ll save someone the trouble.
Whirlwind, Hornet and a C class flying boat.
