Ref the Bulldog crash.
I did a quick google and found out that he escaped with cuts and bruises.
He was seen sitting in an ambulance waving to the crowd after the accident.
A lucky man I would say
I would love the Beaufighter to fly.
Also a firefly. Maybe an S6b with a genuine engine.
I think the sound would be fantastic.
Brilliant, She looks fantsatic.
Well done all that created this.
Those posts referencing plastic modelling errors missed the fact fact I specifically said flying models. I have seen many excellent examples of large scale Rc models which look the aged part. Some of which would be difficult to tell from the full size in flight.
My friend Nigel Nixon flew the models for the film. Model flying was filmed at Binbrook if I remember correctly.
I have seen behind the scenes footage of the model flying.
This included the crash scene and landing approach with engine out.
Having read all of the above posts I wanted to add my thoughts.
I do not believe all men are better than women at anything.
I know of many women who are better than men at things they do, even if tradition would suggest it to be wrong.
History and social conditioning places men in some positions and women in others.
Back to the subject.
Controversial, but a thought. Can you imagine what would have been said and thought had this young women been the pilot of either of the aircraft that were involved in last years accidents. Again social conditioning would provoke a different response to the ones that were made.
There are many people still out there who would have believed that it was pilot error just because the pilot was female.
I believe the RAF trains their pilots to the same standard whether male or female. I would expect that the position was offered to the candidate who was the best fit for the job this time round.
It’s a shame that whatever circumstances have caused the early departure have happened. I just hope there is nothing sinister about the decision.

A friend of mine said wooden prop blades are a nightmare to find.
Could be a problem.
