The F-22 and F-35 systems were integrated because they had to be integrated; the related tasks of EMCON and sensor fusion demanded computing power that (even in 1995) meant big processor banks that had to be shared because of practical space/weight/power/cooling limits.
Given the extraordinary increase in computing performance per watt over the last several decades, I am slightly puzzled by the apparently relentless upward march of power/cooling requirements.
But why is the radar mounted tilted up/back? Isn’t Typhoon in the interceptor role meant to be flying high and fast and hence mostly be hunting targets below it?
T-50’s secondary combat capability and non-Chinese provenance would be major selling points, I expect. Pakistan doesn’t have many options going forward to mitigate its dependence on China. Scrounging F-16s will only get you so far.

I think at least part of the reason the Soviets ended up with a small twin in the MiG-29 rather than a single-engine aircraft like F-16 or J-10 is because MiG-29 and Su-27 share a common design lineage originally pursued under the PFI project that was only later divided into two distinct airframes.
In its original form the MiG-29 was a highly specialised aircraft with little utility outside the mass air war over Germany and Eastern Europe for which it was designed. It can hardly be taken as a proxy for modern Russian aircraft. MTBO was not a concern in the shadow of Götterdämmerung, maximum performance for minimum cost was. The major redesign the Fulcrum has undergone since the Cold War (MiG-29M and from there to MiG-29K) has produced a much more well-rounded platform, better suited to the export market and indeed to Russia’s post-Cold War domestic requirements, at the cost of eroding much of the distinction between itself and the Flanker. Nonetheless, Russia’s failure to take advantage of the existing AL-31 engine and to develop its own J-10-ski represents, perhaps, a greater missed opportunity than that of any other nation.
Yes, it borrowed the basic layout of the Lavi, which like the Eurocanards represents essentially the state of the art in the late 1980s. Other than that, what can we say about it?
What else needs to be said? We know the potential advantages of this configuration against those that preceded it. In order to be confident of its superior agility and kinematic performance, therefore, we need only assume that China has managed not to completely balls it up.
The precise characteristics of the equipment fit are unimportant, because these things change over time. Indeed they already have, and will continue to do so. What endures is the basic configuration: an F-16-size, single-engine aircraft in the delta-canard configuration. It would perhaps be less notable if it weren’t for the singular failure of the rest of the world to field an affordable successor to the F-16 and Mirage 2000 designs (in Russia the problem has a more complex genealogy, but is no less real), but there you have it.
In any case I expect J-10 has at least a decade of production left ahead of it. I look forward to the 2020s edition featuring WS-10G engine and a bunch of technologies backported from J-20. :eagerness:

AFAIK, it was only negotiated with the latest batch of MKIs signed a few years ago.

The DCNS concept was provided only as an illustration of what is possible with 2015 technology. Power density in battery technology has been increasing at the rate of 50%/decade for the last thirty years or so. Improvements in AIP technology are slower, I expect.
With issues like this and significant operational limits the question, for me, would be who has a requirement that this kind of SSB is the answer for?!!
This seems to be the sticking point. If you are already committed to supporting SSNs, from naval reactor design, to shore support facilities, the investment required for a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine is correspondingly reduced.
Nonetheless the obvious candidate nations would be those looking to field nuclear weapons on conventional submarines anyway: Israel and Pakistan. In the event that they decided to pursue a nuclear deterrent, South Korea and/or Japan could be interested in such a platform as well.
Why bother? Farm air policing duty out to Fr/Gr/It as is already done on weekends, and buy SAMs, land-based cruise missiles, rocket systems, helicopters and artillery to handle real combat duties (which are just as likely to be conducted against Fr/Gr/It as anyone else). Acquire LO UAV for recon/targeting purposes when something suitable becomes available.

On the contrary, J-10 is one of the less aesthetically attractive Eurocanards — uglier than Rafale, certainly. Nonetheless, it embodies all the qualities that made F-16 such a laudable and successful platform, with a more advanced aerodynamic design offering improved performance and agility (plus a Typhoon-style variable intake — DSI on J-10B — to take full advantage of those possibilities), and without the performance-sapping (and yes, ugly) modifications that’ve been required to keep F-16 competitive in the latter stages of its life.
As such, J-10 is a worthy successor to the F-16 heritage, amidst a gaggle of contemporaries falling mostly into one of two categories — those that even the manufacturing nations themselves can neither afford to buy nor operate, let alone export — and significantly smaller and mostly less sophisticated aircraft (JF-17, T-50, Gripen, Tejas) that are in another class of capability all together.
The non-Chinese project that comes closest to the superb balance of J-10 is Gripen E/F. But as laudable and sorely-needed as that aircraft is, the Chinese deserve credit for getting it right the first time around.

In that direction, yes. Such would’ve been both easier on the French pocketbook — which of course is far more limited than when Rafale was designed — and likely more attractive on the export market as well (save perhaps in Korea and Singapore, where they lost anyway).
