Are JF-17s for export to third parties going to be built in China or Pakistan? Or will there be a work-sharing agreement?
I have a feeling Pakistan’s factory is too busy trying to meeat PAF demand. I have a feeling they will be coming from China.
That is the answer I was given too. They simply did not have time to prepare.
Was just reading up something on KG-300G
My question was if airborne radars are X-band and Phalcon is L-band, then what exactly is the use of I-J band jammer?

Wouldn’t it be to jam other forms of “communication”? … … including the data-link?
It is not about numbers/size but how well it is covered by pictures at first.
By that yardstick North Korea or Syria are “small airforces” f.e. the limited pictures from that available in mind.
What you are saying makes sens (:diablo: ) but THEY (???) should change the title of the thread so it is less confussing/so it says what it mean – something like “Rarely Publicised Airforces” or “Rarely Photographed Airfirces” – otherwise the discussion over the meaning of “small” will keep bouncing back.

It is interesting that with so many other powerful raptors in their country, that Tanzania has chosen the Bald Eagle (entirely American) as their symbol!
Are you sure it is the Bald Eagle. Can you tell if it is not the African Fish Eagle? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Fish_Eagle
SAAF with Gripen #3907 LITENING targeting pod!

From that photo posted by Otaku, you can just make out the MLG well protruding into the inlet duct or or less where I have put the yellow line.

Eritrea MiG-29
What was Eritrean MiG-29 been doing at Russian airshow? There is well-weathered Russian AF MiG-23MLD behind it. Is it a photoshoped image?
Could be pre-delivery.
Isn’t it that missiles have very limited captive life? I believe they are designing for a given number of take-offs and landings and also a number of flying hours due to fatigue.
More is better – and engineering is a skill of compromises.
Dude.. Even the example you give is wrong. Eurofighter is initially inducted with ability to fire AIM-120. BVR ability is present before it can be inducted.
The radar is make by the Chinese, SD-10 is also make by the Chinese. How hard can it be to be intergrated? Plus, its not something new. This was carried out before on J-8II and J-10 before moving on to JF-17. I know the radar is different but I don’t think its a serious problem that can drag so long.
Was not part of the speech saying
“The ‘JF-17 Thunder’ has the capability to undertake entire spectrum of offensive as well as defensive missions..”!
I take it the squadron presenteted yesterday can carry SD-10. It does not make sense IF they cannot.
