Air Force of Zimbabwe VIP Transport
An AFZ VIP plane visiting South Africa on 8 October 2008. I am still trying to find out what it is.

Thanks djcross. While I understand RCS, I still have a lot to learn about the different modes.
Well, then let’s go back to modern military aviation 😉
These aircraft were seen over Harare in 2002. In the footage they are described as Chinese-built Migs bu they seem to have swept wings instead of delta wings, at least the aircraft on the outer side. Can anyone identify them?
They could be Hunters. I have personally witnessed AFZ Hunters over Harare but that was in the 90s. The report likely mistaken!

A routine training exercise turned tragic Friday following the death of two air force pilots in central Zimbabwe, a state-run newspaper reported here Saturday.
The Herald daily said the airmen were killed when a Chinese-made K8 trainer plane they were using crashed on Friday morning at Thornhill Airbase in the third largest city of Gweru.
The K8 jets were commissioned in 2005 as part of a programme to rejuvenate and modernize the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ).
This is the second crash involving AFZ planes since 2005 when a transport plane crashed on take-off from the Harare International Airport and killed its two pilots.
fidji? i remember they had 2 helicopters…
namibia? since the country only exists since 90’s?
I believe the air force was involved in the DRC war!
Thanks TooNs. … … That is an insteresting site I was not aware of.
NDF F-7s
How many F-7s are supposed to be in Namibia? … … I believed they had 14 total including two 2-seaters. However, those numbers suggests here is a 0315 and I believe I can see a 0319 behind 0313. Any idea how many they actually have?
^ Namibian, right?
Here’s another one, before the service changed its name form “Namibian Air Force” (NAF) to “Namibian Defence Force” (NDF).
Anybody knows exactly when did that happen?*******

Googler, I think it is the other way round. It was an Air Wing of NDF from 2000 to 2005. After 2005 it was commissioned as a NAF. I would there conclude that NDF is the old marking and NAF the newer. See here: http://www.mod.gov.na/n_item1.htm
This video helped me understand better:
What a fine Zambian bird. You cannot beat that silky black against a white background. Good camera angle too, :diablo: :diablo: :diablo:

I don’t think the Zimbabwean MiG-23 shown is at Harare. The background shows houses on a hillside and all the photos of Harare Airport I’ve aver seen show it to be on a plateau with open space around it.

Yes that does not look like Harare. However there is hill north of Thornhill (Gweru) but I think it is further from the runway or parking ramps than these pictures show.
Field Air Base (http://wikimapia.org/#y=-18167464&x=29979115&z=14&l=0&m=a&v=2) should have hills nearby.
I never considered the mention of the Gloggers to be an error but could be.
