Come on someone must be serious about going with me, I am amazed by the general response of either:

“Oh there are only 6 left flying? Can’t be very safe then!”

    or

    “Iran Air? Arrrgh!!!!”

    or

“Oh dear, I would reeeaaally like to come but unfortunatley I am washing my hair/going to the dentist/going on holiday, etc!

I still think the BA colours look best on the 744:

Takes my breath away every time I see one!

They have 2 active, TF-AMA, delivered to Singapore, and TF-AMB again delivered to Singapore. No Ansett involvement with these 2.

Isn’t Renfrew the old old airport at Glasgow that was demolished? I think the new one is at Abbotsinch?

PIK has Ryanair, Aer Arran, and I think BMI Baby, with a few night freighter movements, the vast majority of stuff operates from GLA. There is quite a nice train journey along the coast from the Airport railway station into Glasgow central station or the stop before, from which both have shuttle bus services to the airport.
I had a really nice day trip when I went back in September visiting PIK, GLA, and the city itself 🙂

That IL62 seems better maintained than the majority of in-service Russian airliners these days, who seem to take the Air France attitude to aircraft cleaning!

I would actualy recomend you get the train up to Glasgow (GLA). PIK has not a lot going for it in terms of movements, but GLA is easily acessible, and has quite a few good view points (even more if you meet up with Ren 😉 )

LPL-DUB will not work with just one rotation a day, how is that useful for business travellers? That means its only open for leisure travellers, who are going to be after cheap flights and go with FR. I don’t see ANYONE buying seats on this service?

What routes is this on planned to use? I imagine it will visit LHR at some stage, they always seem to!

Well from reading that report (which I am sure doesn’t give the full picture) I would say the actions of the Korean Air station manager were inexcusable! In this day and age people who trace positive for explosives should NOT be allowed on aeroplanes!!!

Its to encourage people to take their bags on the planes so as to reduce the time spent loading the holds with baggage, increasing turnaround time. Generosity my ass!

I’ve not travelled too much, but my favourite Cities are Edinburgh, and Krakow. Krakow is very special to me for a lot of reasons, but the actualy city itself is very clean, with a fair amount of beautiful architecture, and I really enjoyed my trip there:)
