Oh, and I think you’ll find it’s an A320
Myrtle Avenue – is that what it’s called!
I agree, it’s a superb spot and I’m greatly looking forward to my next visit next Saturday (Where Concorde will be landing on 27L for us!)
Yes, Egyptair still fly, mainly with A310/A300 equipment, but I did catch the 747-300 there a few months back too.
It’s BA! They used it on their Lapland Charters I think.
27R is what you see from the visitors centre.
27r and 27L can be seen from Hatton Cross, and the road just South of it.
As for the 09’s, well I don’t know of anywhere, as you only see the T4 stuff landing on 09L, and that’s it!
OK thanks very much. The only point’s she could remember was that it had backwards facing seats, was empty, and she hated every minute of it!
Just speaking to my Gran today, and coincidently she mentioned travelling on a plane with backwards facing seats in, about 1950 to Austria from London. Any ideas on what that could have been?
@ Coanda ASCOT is used for all RAF aircraft transiting in Controlled airspace.
The Japanese Air Force 744’s call “Japanese Airforce One” and “Two” respectively.

If you keep walking up the road away from Hattons Cross, towards T4, then you will come to a sort of triangular grass field. You will have walked under the approach to 27L, and the grass area positions you perfectly for photos, getting reg’s etc. for incoming aircraft on 27L
Do the staff at the station not mind you hanging about Hattons Cross?
£35 single is more expensive than BA too!
I did a very enjoyable and short (30 minutes airtime) flight between LHR and MAN back in March, but I think the problem with NOW’s venture is just running it from Luton.
Yeah, the BA 777 left from Luton to Japan, and came back into Heathrow at the end.
Yeah because they still haven’t taken down the Concorde signs in Washington yet, there was a big thing about it in the papers a while back!
Why do they always use Luton for the football teams?
