It’l be 26L tommorrow according to the forecasts (And they’ve been using it for a week now as well I think)
Yes, I saw one on Sunday at Heathrow, but I haven’t seen one for a while before that.
We must have been standing right next to each other, I’ve got a very similar pic of that A319!
The interesting thing is though, Boeing are working in conjunction with BAe on this one. Directly against Airbus!
It should be reopening on May 1st, but they are going to start charging!
The 20 B767’s are reputedly coming from BA, which is interesting as they have said that they are not getting rid of them!
If you can stay until 10 am there is the “Aircraft Enthusiasts Convention” in the visitor centre. The views aren’t very good (Atrocious if they are on 09’s) but it looks like it will be quite interesting…
Ah right OK. Basically anythings possible then!
In the feature on FlyBe in last months Airliner World they said the CRJ was not suited to their business model, and the routes they operated.
Why the change of heart?
Yeah, I agree there. It’s just something I noticed this morning, and it fitted quite well with EDLW’s post thats all!
BA’s 767 fleet is split into 2: Long Haul and Short Haul, and the long haul ones have the 1st cabins, flat beds etc. and I presume PTV’s.
From what I have heard (From a BA 757/767 captain) there are no immediate plans to dispose of the 757/767 family.
In fact one of BA’s 767’s was recently brought out of storage to cope with demand. The 767’s are crucial for BA’s secondary long haul services, where it becomes uneconomic to operate a 777, and as the 757 has an identical cockpit to the 767 they are keeping some 757’s for the same length of time as the 767’s.
The older 757’s were retired to make way for the new A321’s, scheduled for delivery in early 2004.
Also has anyone looked carefully at the Heathrow double page foldout.
On the left hand side page you see aircraft lining up on 09R, and on the right hand side page you see aircraft lining up on 27R!
Presumably it’s two differrent photos.
Nope, there is a listing for Manx and a listing for British Regional (The site hasn’t been updated for a while it seems!)
Looking at the Embraer website, apparently Manx have an order for 23 ERJ145’s?
