KLM Fokker 50s are a common and regular sight at LHR on the Eindhoven – Heathrow service.

They are used on the Rotterdam as well.

There seem to have been rather a lot of Privatairs in MAN recently. Have I missed something?

Hmm, I’m just trying to work out what might be able to use the cross runway? Its 1315m long, Belfast City has a runway length of 1800 and gets A321s out comfortably, so in that case does anybody know if FlyBe or Eastern have been able to get any of their flights out of BHX this morning for example?

There are several doors along the side, but some of the seats fold forward (like in a 3 door car) to allow access to the seats with no door access.

EU remember, so any EU carrier can fly anywhere in the EU, although try telling that to some countries.

Been a while since I got some shots on here for one reason or another, but a wonderful display of the Northern Lights this evening made me take a screenshot, and decide to post a couple more on here at the same time!

In 5 years of using 3 versions of FS, with over 3000 hours logged, I have never ONCE seen the Northern Lights, so was dead chuffed to finally see them recreated tonight on the way to Beijing:

Also, here is a shot of me departing Dallas a few days ago, en route to LGW:

And one of me messing about in a Typhoon off the coast of Croatia at sunset one evening:

Very interesting, wouldnt mind a week in Cape Verde (hatches plan…)

Their 737s were certified for ETOPS ages ago, they go crazy distances in them. Africa and the Middle East is pretty routine, alongside pretty regular trips out to Canada in them as well.

Nope, the 321s were just general expansion. The 757s will remain as long as the 767s remain, which is a good few years yet.

The 757s will remain in T3 operating Spain, Italy, and a few other medium haul routes as well (Istanbul, Larnaca etc). What is then believed to occur is that the remaining short haul 767s will be converted to Long Haul, meaning that T5 short haul becomes 100% Airbus.

This creates one small problem in that routes like Athens and Larnaca, and importantly Moscow and Athens will have go to T3 to be operated by the larger 757. This therefore removes their advantage of the T5 location, as these are prime connecting flights onto USA services. The alternative is for them to be more attractive to connecting pax, and use A321s for these services (Quite a drop from the 767) or use long haul 767s.

Whichever way you look at it there is never going to be perfect fleet simplification in BA ever, there will always be one or two anomalies.

My parents just had the pleasure of flying on it this afternoon from Tunis to LGW. Operating a sub for GB Airways. Contrary to what they said earlier it had had a total refit inside and they thought it was brand new!

Irritating how nothing interesting like that ever happens on my flights though!

I wonder what the * is meant to refer to after the section about competitor fares:

    * Expected fare if competition actualy existed ?

That aside its very good news, first German service for Southampton in its recent history I think?
