Wow, you were lucky to get the Canadair, I guess it was staging through en route to or from Canada to one of the European hotspots?
No strikes mentioned on ba.com
That is rather a severe delay for such a short flight though, would NOT like to be one of the passengers involved!
Must be NCL then, there were a few that were mentioned, BFS was the only one I really paid attention to.
If the 150 miles is for the round trip then yes certainly, 300 miles is a bit different, but I think every UK aviation enthusiast should visit MAN at least once, it is by far the best airport for viewing.
I have an Antonov 32B HK-4008X listed as operating for SELVA, but I dont get to update South American aircraft much, so not sure if its still flying or not.
Several routes, GLA and BFS among them going to 3 times weekly until the ATRs come along. 3 times weekly is rather poor :S
Hmm not exactly 6th freedom, Air Malta used to own Azzura Air, which operated lots of charter flights to the UK and elsewhere, and when Azzura went bust Air Malta were bound to honour the flying programmes. I think they are doing quite well out of them, especially if they are now expanding the charter side of things.
“Freedom” rights dont really apply in the EU, as any airline in the EU can operate any route it wishes to within the EU.
Already with them:
EI-DKF and EI-DKG
Superb shots, I’d love to visit Alaska!
AndrewM just gets greener every time… 😀
Superb yet again Dan. Gotta love those Balkan Tupolevs, enjoyed watching them in quite a few places around the UK now!
I did everything Mark, ATC, fire service, Engineering, terminal control etc.
Hmm I think I shall share bmistar’s comments: Lucky so and so! 😮
Flight Deck visits always depend on the attitude of the cabin crew. In my experience Flight Deck crews always want you on, however many of the cabin crew you speak to think its against policy to visit the deck at any stage. This was illustrated very well when wannabe pilot and I flew LHR-MAN-LHR with bmi on G-MIDH both ways. On LHR-MAN we asked, cabin crew checked with captain first, and we were welcomed in, asked loads of question, sat in the seats, got photos etc. MAN-LHR we asked, and the cabin crew refused to ask and said it was against company policy!
Great shots. What exactly did your work experience entail?
Very nice, the Dornier is an unusual one for me.
