I suppose if the bays were stuffed with fuel tanks. . . that’s a long ways to haul cruise missiles externally (12 IIRC). Don’t know if they were still figuring on them being one-way missions at that point though. Probably one of those never-to-be-known things.

You are starting a lot of flame wars in many topics. Mods should take notice this. You are almost always the first person to start “meaningless quote wars”.

Why are you even comparing B-1 and Tu-160????? Oh wait they look like each other huuh??? They are not even same “class”. USAF doesn’t have anything comparable to Tu-160. But hey how can you start a flame war without irrationality.

Ah here we go with the “s-ducts” thing again…even though every piece of evidence suggests there are no such things in the T-50. Now someone mentioned something about Russians not being able to change physics…well thats the same case here…there’s just no room in there for something of the sort. The frontal LO shaping isn’t all that extensive for some very important reasons…first of all the lack of total hiding for the engine face and the fact that from even most frontal angles you will get a good view of that conventional underside.

You don’t need to repeat yourself. We figured you don’t know geometry a long time ago.

    [QUOTE=Sens;1540981]

The Russian way to give the weight of an engine differs from the West. The Chinese stick to the French way ( the weight of an installed engine in working condition and by that the same AL-31F becomes 300 kg heavier f.e..

Are you sure about the 300kg figure? I know there is a difference between “dry” and “wet” engine weight but 300kg sound a little bit too much. Basically what you are saying is AL-31 needs 300kg of liquids to work, right? any sources?

A questionable guessing to stay polite. The PAK-FA will suffer in a similar way like the F-22A by the drag-rise from the internal carriage and higher volume in need for that. Physics is for all the same. 😉

PAK-FA has two narrow bays back-to-back hence probably less of a drug because of what you defined. Also, I think covering missile within airframe can decrease the total drug anyway.

It’s the same guy who gave that really insightfull interview to mk.ru a few days before the first flight, so it isn’t too surprising, he seems a well respected chap.

Well, I agree with most of the stuff he is saying. however, I think he underestimates China as almost everyone else. I believe China will have a fifth generation fighter too not so far future. One should keep in mind that, now, China can produce almost any military equipment on her own.

wow…. almost everyone here has their own big companies, I guess. To see this much support for the BA management and not the slightest of sympathy for the crew who does the JOB. Do guys want to have slaves, too? I mean come on you gave them food what else they can ask for.

McCain didn’t unveil anything. In fact McCain’s concern was with the cost MOST IMPORTANTLY that the later batches of tankers to be procurred not be at the higher lease cost. It was in fact Boeing which unveiled the Sears/Druyun misconduct.

    :D:D:D LOL
    Thanks for the laugh 🙂

And toyota decided to recall all the cars without any pressure from the government 😀 definitely didn’t try to cover it. (sarcasm)

He published the paper on how to measure radar reflections. That’s where his contribution ended. He didn’t even know Lockheed had used them until they TOLD him in the 90s.

    That looks pretty solid contribution.

    for what?

I guess you misunderstood me. What I meant was the deal does not involve any F-16 sale to Taiwan.

Well, actually it is not that bad for China. F-16s are not there.
