Maybe a weird choice, but I really liked “The Final Countdown”, when the Nimitz travelled back into time to just moments before Pearl Harbour. Very unrealistic plot of course, but great aviation footage.

Seriously, you all forgot about K’s Choice, that’s a great Belgian band, that’s also known abroad (even US).

P.S. Arthur, Another Dutch band was also popular abroad. You forgot about Vandenberg, they had 1 or 2 hits.

Also, does Van Halen count as a Dutch band?? 🙂 🙂 Half-Dutch anyway, LOL.

Mustaine indeed was the first guitarist of Metallica. He was kicked out because of his drugs problems and replaced by Hammett. After that he founded Megadeth (still part of it today).

He was not the one that died in that bus crash. That was the bass player, Cliff Burton. He was replaced by Jason Newsted, who himself left a short time ago. Don’t know who will replace him.

RE: Anybody served in the military before ???????

The Dutch armed forces didn’t want me unfortunately. I went to the recruitement office and after 5 minutes I was out again. Failed the eyesight test miserably.

I wanted to go to the Air Force as a fast jet driver at first, but then changed my mind to Orions. When I couldn’t become a pilot I tried for system operator aboard Orions (ASW stuff), but they didn’t want me because of my bad eyesight. So in the end I wasn’t even drafted for Army service.
