I’m ‘poping’ up to the city
Now don’t you forget your little buggy, so that the faithful can see you!
I am jetting off now into the sunset
…..to eat more pies.
Bring back Jean Batten’s Gull back to OW – one of Shuttleworth’s poorer decisions to sell such a historic machine.
It was never my intention to try and hide my convictions, I was just worried that it may stop me becoming a commercial pilot
There are some convictions that will now totally prevent you from obtaining a UK airside ID – assumimg your transgressions were minor, no great problem, but best find out BEFORE you spend a fortune on a license.
If you really want to read the UK requirements, check out the Air Navigation Order (ANO) http://www.legislation.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20001562.htm#20
(i) Subject to sub-paragraph (ii), on a flight to which this paragraph applies, there shall be carried not less than one cabin attendant for every 50 or fraction of 50 passenger seats installed in the aircraft.
no one replyed people
Quite probably because many of the posts were verging on the incomprehensible to us old farts who were educated in the correct use of English, rather than teenage text babble.
Plus, of course, you now are required to have a Criminal Record Check (CRC) in the UK, before you can get an airside ID – so little point in ‘forgetting’ about it, may as well be honest from the start.
I bet you’d love having the Stiff Little Fingers on board ? 😀
Once flew the Proclaimers (EDI-AMS I think)
as was Britannia before the TUI fiasco.
Care to elaborate on the Britannia ‘fiasco’, using your great inside knowledge of the industry?
Danairboy you are obviously a fan of both Dan Air and Air Europe
And look what happened to both of them! Airlines MUST do everything possible to generate revenue.
As to the delivery of the cabin service, it all comes down to logistics – on a two hour flight to PMI, for example, the cabin crew do not have the time to go down the cabin asking who has ordered meals – pax having meals are grouped together in a pre-allocated seating plan.
I would say that ALL cabin crew do an amazing job, I would find it difficult to keep a smile on my face when having to deal with some of the SLF!
There is a published hold at ROSUN (354/19 nms from MCT VOR) – lot of CBs around yesterday, so perhaps aircraft holding while weather cleared?
And come to think of it, there was a large and slow moving CB over the southern part of the Peak District yesterday evening, probably making inbound routings via TNT/DAYNE unuseable.
Well the low fare ‘bubble may burst’…
Possibly when better regulations are introduced for the working conditions of flight crew
You may be delighted to learn that the EU want to introduce LESS restictive Flight Time Limitations (FTLs) than currently used in the UK. See the BALPA site http://www.balpa.org.uk/intranet/BALPA-Camp/FLTs/index.htm
Go on give us a translation
A bit of googling produced this site, which explains the European METAR/TAF terminology http://www.bobrathbone.com/taf_metar_decodes.htm
