Thanks mate 🙂
I’ve being taking photos during the demolition of the Gill hanger
That’s sad (but inevitable). Been on the NCL skyline for years…

First word from the AAIB http://www.aaib.gov.uk/latest_news/accident__heathrow_17_january_2008___initial_report.cfm
where have you seen photos of the engines with enough detail to acertain this?
Found this link on pprune (on one of the rare occasions I’ve been able to get on to it since yesterday)
So what is needed to sort out the 757 ILS situation at LBA?
Nothing!….757/767 can use 32 at LBA down to Cat 3B minima (ie decision height 0, RVR 75m) Due to the downslope on 32, touchdown is likely to be long, so additional limitations are imposed (landing weight limited, NO tailwind)
I can only presume that Jet2 have an issue with their 757s which does not permit autoland at LBA (unless, of course, 14 was in use that day). Sometimes Low-Cost equals extra hassle…should have booked with a carrier that can make full use of LBA’s capabilities!
Strictly speaking not allowed inflight OR on the ground…..check out the sad (but kind of inevitable) story of Pablo Mason on pprune http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=301882
TUI Travel Plc.:D
TUI Travel PLC is the name of the whole travel group. http://www.tuitravelplc.com/tuitravel On the high street, you will still see Thomson and First Choice as separate brands. As for the airline, Thomsonfly and First Choice are being merged onto a single AOC by May 2008…..as to the name of the airline….anyone’s guess (did I hear someone suggest Britannia?)
Yes you’re right..i was premature in my condemnation of this innocent individual..i’m sorry that i jumped to conclusions without giving him a fair trial…i should know not to believe everything i read or hear as being gospel
Well said Steve, good man!
I cannot remember the last time I saw an aviation story accurately reported in the UK press. Just arrange the words plunge/scream/terror into a story. The Daily Mail seems to specialise in near death experiences based on standard 1000ft vertical separation! Aviation is the only area I have a specialist knowledge….if every aviation story is wrong, what about the subjects I have no knowledge of?
Never believe the press.
Lets hope the irresponsible imbecile loses his job
Humble pie time
TE476, the Spitfire in the photograph, bellied in at Martlesham Heath on the 12th September 1959, to be grounded for some 36 years.
Looking good last year at Fantasy of Flight

Few more…

Early days at NEAM (1974)…what happened to the JP?

Taken at the Sunderland Airshow in I think 1974
My slides have June 1973 stamped on…thank heavens for Kodachrome, ageing very well.

Sadly I can’t find any pics of the then resident aeroclub Victa Airtourers, or the Valetta, or the DH Rapide that languished in the hangar after nosing over
But I can…………

My DOB was clearly a Mil day!
Yes it was………old fart alert!…I was there, Conningsby, June 1992
