    Hi Rekbots,

    While I agree with you that it was a beautiful aircraft, the loss of the airframe pales into insignificance when compared with the deaths of those on board and on the ground. They are the ones that must be remembered.

    In a nutshell, a headwind gives greater lift on the wings at a lower groundspeed (i.e. the airspeed is higher than the groundspeed). This also applies to take off.

    I think this is the best idea all around. And no-one should jump on SkylinerWorld either in the future without a good reason. Some of the posts against him have been a bit unreasonable too.
