This.
Personally I think what Airbus really need is a longer-range A321, without much stretch (if any). This could target some A310 replacement and also airlines looking at replacing their earlier 757s (especially those with an existing A320-family fleet).

The best: probably ORD for a large one or CVG for something smaller.
But my favourite will always be CMH because that’s where I first met my wife.

Yeuch!
Were EAL inspired by Lufthansa’s and Air France’s nice modern schemes?

For variety it’s Heathrow, plus that’s the one I fly across the pond from 🙂
For user-friendliness I would say Leeds-Bradford, Edinburgh or Stansted.
For viewing it’s a close call between Manchester and Gatwick.
If I have to chose an overall favourite, it’s a close call between my two local ones, LBA and MAN. I like the regional atmosphere at LBA, so it’s Leeds-Bradford by a nose.

Sorry if I’m being a bit of an anorak here, but is that metal cutlery I see on the photos of United meals (dated Apr 2003) on the Airline meals website?

I just got back from Venice too today, with easyJet. Usual easyJet stuff… 20 mins late each way (every easyJet flight I have ever been on has been 20 min late, so why don’t they just revise their entire timetable to 20 mins later? 🙂 )…expensive food and drink…boring 737s…jolly cabin crew.

Maybe, but the all-important Heathrow slots would not be available to these airlines and would be lost to the smaller airports. IMHO BA and bmi must not be allowed to merge, and bmi’s Heathrow services are one of the most important reasons.

Possibly, yes.The RJ’s don’t have the same cargo capacity which means airlines can’t carry cargo on their passenger flights to enhance revenue.
Agreed, but it’s a shame the A318 can’t take the same containers as the A319-321. Think it’s due to engine / cargo door clearance, can anyone confirm or correct this?
If you are mainly a RJ operator (like Flybe) then you’d probably go for a large RJ – if you’re mainly a big airliner operator you might stick with a cut down mainline airliner.
Agreed again. This is especially true if the big airline has an Airbus fleet.

V. nice.
Presumably the rudder not being repainted yet is most likely to be because it is already balanced, and repainting it will mean it needs to be rebalanced?
Or am I talking out of my a**e? (stars because I can’t use that word on the forum twice in a night 😉 )
Mike
Greekdude, it’s fine to disagree, forums are for discussion.
We all like a bit of eye candy, but one of my first flights with my wife resulted in me getting the cold shoulder for looking at ‘the one with the arse’. And I was only trying to catch her attention to get the wife replacement headphones (the ones she had been given didn’t work) 🙁
I tend to associate good service with United and a few other airlines. Maybe the average age of UAL’s cabin crews is just a coincidence, maybe they are at the top of many crews’ career ladders which causes more mature crews to gravitate to them, I don’t know.
All that said, I have found the service on my ‘when United’s full’ airline, VS, to be very good too with younger crews.
Mike
I’m sure they haven’t, but the one in the F/O’s seat does bear a certain resemblance to Tamzin Outhwaite (or is it just the differently coloured roots and eyebrows?).
Mike
Is it just me or was one of those two in the Hooters Air pic an Eastenders star?

Are you suggesting that flight attendants should be fired when they reach a certain age 😉
In my experience the more mature flight attendants are often the ones that know best how to provide good customer service, which is more important than eye candy to most customers.

Yes she does, do you like virgins new livery? its not that new but is this better than the red and pure white?
Am I the only one who’s not a fan of the current Virgin c/s? I don’t find it repulsive or anything, but do find it rather bitty, with uncoordinated bits stuck on in different places.
