contrailjj – apologies for delay in replying; little things like work and 3 yr old son got in way 😮 Identification of the sketches was the payback for the gift of the scrapbooks. Original sketches are now back in the hands of the family.

As for the scrapbooks, maybe I have too many morals for this game – I would preferably put them at Duxford / Hendon on a long term loan. Desperate as our ATC Sqn is for cash (and that IS desperate!), I could not countenance profiting from the kindness of such a benefactor who has entrusted such historic artefacts into my care.

When I get chance, I’ll upload the other 2 drawings (which I got the family to take a piccy of and then email, so quality’s not too brilliant) and post links.

PS How much would you offer….. :diablo: 😀

    Many thanks for that.

To be honest, I got a virtually simultaneous post from a friend of mine who has a book of British serials. The initial identification had been as Siskins / Gloster Gamecock. On referring to the serials, the identification was refined to Siskin IIIAs and a Gloster Grebe (from which the Gamecock was developed).

Great identification skills, however – looking through books of contemporary aircraft, I was floundering a bit as so many of the designs of the time were almost identical! 😮
