Remember the Swift? When the guns were fired it disturbed the fuel air ratio through the engine.

C-130 in RAF service with the astrodome, was quickly removed because of noise on the flight deck

Alec Harvey Bailey was a senior service engineer for Rolls Royce during the war years. He also headed the service dept., on many RR documents you will find his title, AHB. A well respected man who is no longer with us.

Rumour has it that restoration will be carried out in front of “the green door”.

BBMF wore original leather head gear until they were influenced by Spencer Flack’s accident in the Sea Fury. The only reason he survived, when the canopy would not open, was that he smashed the canopy with his bone dome protected head!

    I think I’m over this

You really need to think about why people come and go from this site – I don’t take my bat and ball but some do……….and a lot have

If you come out to bat be prepared to defend your wicket.

The truth is in the air not in the armchairs.
    John

How true! I would ask how much progress is being made on any other airworthy Beaufighter project in the world other than at TFC, certainly not in Australia where they have been on your doorstep since the war.

How long have these “Oz” projects been going? Judy Pay P-40, HARS Beaufighter, P-47, Me-109, Corsair with Nobby in Darwin, just to mention a few. Like TFC they are dealing with the day to day realities of solving the problems.

The criticism comes from the “armchair warriors” who have never bent tin in anger nor funded the process.

Offer your time to the shop floor and get a reality check!

Interesting time scales for putting an aircraft together! How long has Ralph been putting together the Beaufort, 10 years plus? Have the Aussies even started a Beaufighter? How long have they had the parts? C’mon show us how it can be done!

I think what you are saying is heavier than bulldust!

Happy memories seeing and hearing the “moon rocket” take off from Tengah, Singapore. It made a whole new different sound in that climate. Was it really thirty years ago!
