On my way to Mendoza airport last week passed an a/c mounted on a plinth, not sure of type. Coming from bus station in town to airport, in taxi.
Forget the aircraft, try the wine!

That was the only use mentioned. Cannot remember which Spitfire pilots notes mentioned it but will try to find out.

The Spitfire crowbar is for breaking the pipe coming from the emergency blow down bottle in the situation where the bottle has been activated with the gear selected up. The air would activate the jack shuttle valves, allowing air to the downside of the u/c jack forcing the strut against the uplocks which would make it impossible to move the gear selector. The only way to get the gear down is to release the air holding the leg against the uplocks, hence the crowbar. Strange but true.
How many Spit drivers know that?

    Laurie,
Definitely Labuan. A rare shot, usually only one Valetta in residence from Butterworth and the Belfast was a very rare visitor from UK. Twin Pins from 209 Squadron at Seletar.

Runs to several pages, hope to publish once I get more of a complete list.
In addition to all the RAF Section Numbers, what else would you guys like to see?
Have very comprehensive list of 6A items and what aircraft they fit. Can do the same with American instruments and their exchangeability with British instruments.
Could probably do a prop list. A small item on Spitfire part Numbers. What do you want to see guys?
